    Evening All

I was wondering if I could join your merry band. Where to begin. Me.....

Ive done a variety of different diets over the years and well Im a dieting quitter, I dont know what it is, well actually i do I love food yum yum yum. And well I had an op 4 weeks ago and Ive been a sofa potato ever since - albeit on doctors orders and well I went on a mini shopping trip wih a skinny friend (just to get out of the house) and due to the op (and lack of ironed and washed clothes, as the ironer and washer has had an op -me) I was wearing not the most flatering clothes and i kept seeing myself in the mirror and i wasnt very happy with what was looking back blah! :( Anyway today i caught a glimpse of myself as i was getting in the bath and well a very big OMG

At first i turned away and ignored it as i have done for sometime, but then i looked back, i took myself in and accepted that things have gotten quite out of hand, i looked at myself and the shape i had become and decided to do something about it, im not going to be that shape anymore, so with a deep breathe and the magic that is the internet, ive found my nearest meeting and im going for it in the morning, i may not be able to exercise just yet but i can get my butt up the road. Ive even set my alarm (and ironed a decent pair of trousers lol) :)

so if you wont mind I shall be back tomorrow to let you know how I get on.

    Thanks

My co-op has those baskets too rainbowfairydust, you snake past them all on the way to the checkout. I was looking at Crunchies today but I've vowed that I won't buy any more until the football season starts again. I have one a week at the match with coffee as my treat.

Its no wonder the UK has a massive problem with obesity .. you just cant get away from junk food. Pretty much anywhere you queue to buy something there is some sort of food near the tills.
I've never seen anyone in our group get anything for Body Magic - I go spinning at least once a week and visit the gym other times, is there a way of recording this - I want a shiny sticker, lol!!

The same for our class too, there is never any mention of body magic either. We just sit there clapping for 90 minutes and then go home.

I keep thinking about giving up the classes as well. it feels like a waste of a fiver especially as i dont actually get any benefit from the class itself.

I enjoy the classes, for the social aspect and the camaraderie. My nearest class is 12 miles away and I didnt know a soul when I started but now I feel very much at home and have met some lovely people including my consultant.

I think if I had gone to classes with someone else I probably wouldn't have mixed with others so much to be honest.

As for the £5 a week, I look on it as a £20 a month investment to a happier, healthier and slimmer me.... and if I wasn't going and paying each week I'm not sure if I'd have stuck to the plan as well as I have.

I agree with you. I found myself not going out much socially only with OH and going to work. Rest of the time spent as kids taxi or at home in the day getting fatter.

I went to SW by myself two weeks ago and have already met some nice people and of course we already have something in common.

I would struggle to stay on plan without the class but I can understand £5 is a lot for some in the current climate, suppose it depends on willpower too which I don't have. BTW I lost 3lb this week 5 1/2lb in 2 weeks and was suprised to be slimmer of the week. Plenty of fruit for work for me tomorrow. Good luck to everyone.

After my disappointment last week ... I was soooo good but somehow I gained half pound...
Well... This week has MORE than made up for it!

I had my biggest week EVER!! I lost 5lbs...
Well done Piglet - and Blodwen too!
Having a hungry day today though, I've already had 1 apple and 1 mugshot for lunch, but my tummy is still grumbling. Doh!
Like Maman, I couldn't get through a day with just that for lunch! I eat tons for lunch (I prep the day before** & heat in work microwave). eg today I had a piece of grilled tuna, baked beans, cauliflower, half a jacket potato, broccoli, asparagus, home made sw ketchup - that was just the main meal. I also ate an apple, a kiwi and a pear either side of lunch!

News flash: my strategy worked - eating extra HEBs the day before WI. I lost 1.5 lbs which accounts for the past two weeks gains! It's very MSE too because I was up and down to the loo at work USING THEIR PAPER!

Welcome Puzzle, and well done to all losers and big hugs to gainers - and Flat Eric listen to what your friends are telling you!

**actually I more often put up 3 days' lunches at one time, with minor variations in each lunchbox, into the fridge, reheat on day.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
