Pound off so fairly pleased. Have 4 pounds to go for my one stone award. Want to do that in the next 3 WI's as off on holibobs for a week then.
Some fantastic losses this week, well done everyone:T Shall be checking in every day to see how you are all getting on. Anyone struggling keep going, the sun will come out eventually and then we will all have to come out from under our coats! Always worth bearing in mindTotal weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0 -
You have plenty of options here - if its a cornish pastry you could cook the filling seperately as a stew - and have with a jacket spud and extra veg, or make the filling into a pie for the rest of the family and just have yours without the pastry.
Same with the pud - how about a huge bowl of lovely fresh berries- rasps, strawbs and blueberries. If the meal isn't til fri you have plenty of time to plan sometihng syn free/ easily adaptable yet still quick and easy - imo you can't get much easier than sticking a whole chicken and some jacket spuds in the oven and servign with a big fresh salad.
Really like that idea Rach about making the filling and serving it in a different way.
Another idea could be to use that filling and instead of making a pasty make a lasagne - then you can eat the same thing as everyone else.Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -

Wow just caught up on the weekends posts - well done to those who've reached targets and losses, keep going everyone. For those that are struggling keep smiling, remember how far you've come already.
Had WI yesterday (the scales were working yday, yay!), and have a loss of -4lbs.
That's technically two weeks worth of losses as we couldn't get weighed last week as the scales weren't working, but still pleased at a 2lb loss each week, effectively.
Total loss for my first three weeks on SW is 6.5lbs, yay! Hopefully next week I'll get my half stone award.
Also was very good to see a new number on the scales, out of the 11's which I'm pleased about and into the 10's again.
So I've got 10lbs til my Club 10 target, and 1 stone exactly to my personal target now :-)
We go on a weeks cruise on the 9th June (eek!), so I'm hoping to be a bit lighter again for that and to make good choices on board to limit the damage! We've got lots of activities planned so hopefully that will do damage control!
Lovely loss, very well done! Give yourself a pat on the backfor sticking with it after your cra**y class last week! :rotfl:
Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!
46 weeks! :beer:0 -
Thanks gettingthere - not many people came to class yesterday (not sure if that was just because it was a bank holiday or what) and it seemed very distinct this time that people had either done well and had good substantial losses over the two weeks, or else had put on a couple of lbs. I think coming on here during the week helped because I still had that "support" and reminded that it does work and to stick at it!
The other good news was that our consultant told us she'd processed last weeks session as being cancelled so we don't lose the "holiday" week and people on countdowns had that extended.
Fingers crossed for next week, I really want to get to my first award!
Having a hungry day today though, I've already had 1 apple and 1 mugshot for lunch, but my tummy is still grumbling. Doh!Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!

Don't do it FE - why are you putting those temptations in front of yourself. Be selfish and think of yourself first and you know what the healthier stuff is better for your family and guests too. Why don't you just do a roast chicken dinner with SW roast potatoes?
Very good question! Don't know really! Daft that I am putting obstacles in my path when I know it will only hamper my efforts to have a good week because one bad/synful meal usually turns into all day usually turns into all week....
I have decided re the family meal that pudding will be fresh strawberries and canderel. I shall probably buy some profiteroles that my family can enjoy while I can have fruit which I may serve with greek 0% yogurt/meringue nest. If I want to have a profiterole or two then at least I will be able to control/manage the syns rather than buying a cake/tart of sorts which would be impossible to syn accurately and would then sit in my fridge looking at me!
Mealwise, family will be having breaded chicken with oven chips (although I may do SW chips instead). Last time i looked for this, the syn values were 7 syns per piece which is not horrendous and if I treat Friday as a flexi syn day then it should be possible to have pretty much the same as my family without going overboard on the syn front. I may end up having ham eggs and sw chips. Will just see what hapens on the day. We were meant to be going out for food but I have offered to cook instead to save money (and syns) so I won't be doing anything involving too much faff as time is limited and after being at work all day, the last thing I want to do is cook!
The jury is still out on the pasty but considering pastry is probably the worst possible thing you can eat on the SW plan, It would be silly of me to really to eat it. So I think the plan will be to have just a taste and serve it with lots of SW chips leaving it to my OH to eat 99% of it
Menu planning wise, I have started with my evening meals and have planned for the week as follows:
Weds: SW chips, ham, eggs
Thurs, SW beef madras curry, sw wedges
Fri, family meal - breaded chicken/sw chips/veg, fresh strawberries/profiteroles (syns) wine (syns)
Sat: Home made chilli with sw wedges (lots of superfree to go in chilli) looking forward to this already !
Sun: Taste of pasty, sw chips
Mon: Chilli
ETA - lots of SW chips this week but do love them. I need to fine tune the menu so veg etc will get added.0 -
Afternoon everyone
Sorry i have not been on for a while, I have been away this past week ( Belfast & then back to see parents on IOM)
Really havent stuck to the plan at all although i have tried to eat as much fruit & veg as possible . Have had 3 birthdays (sisters 21st, a 30th & friends little boys birthday) this week :bdaycake:
Attended WI last night and have gained 1.5lbs which is no great surprise to me as i have consumed a fair bit of cake and alcohol
So this is my first day back on plan - i have decided to try an original/success express day (apparently is good for people who are maintaining )today which is similar to EE but for each meal 2/3rds (rather than 1/3) of the plate needs to be superfree food and any syns i eat i must choose the highest amount of syns (whether that be EE/Green/Red) . You can also have 2 extra A/B choices as well - Hope all that makes some sense??
So my menu for today -
B - 30g of All Bran Golden crunch (HEXwith skimmed milk (HEX A).Then had a small bowl of melon (not been keen on melon but can just about stomach the honeydew variety) .. Trying to get myself liking melon.
L - Chicken Salad - Mixed salad leaves, beetroot, edamame beans (sp???), peppers, mushrooms, sweetcorn, carrot & chicken pieces
D - Either Large Baked Potato with tuna & veggies on side or will make a prawn stirfry but miss out on the noodles (maybe..will look at syn value)
S - Muller light Toffee, raspbs, blueberries, few grapes, pineapple & small granny smiths apple (its minute ).
Congrats to all those who have losses
ETA - I think i will use my 2nd HEX A choice and have 3 mini light babybels as i am in a cheese mood today

Well done. This is something i have always struggled with myself. In our local co-op we have to queue alongside 14 yes thats right 14  shelves/baskets (containers???) filled to the brim with chocolate/sweets/crisps/mini wine bottles/doughnuts/cookies & peanuts .. It is hell on earth waiting to pay sometimes :eek:

Well done CH27 for avoiding the chocolate - it's a real challenge when it's right there in front of us!
Today at work there are chocolates in the kitchen, so every time I go to get a drink I'm having to fight a battle with myself about NOT picking up a chocolate! I know that when I go home tonight I'll be happy that I've avoided them though (espec as it means I'll have some extra syns for a treat this evening!).Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!
