eternal sunshine - most people put it down to a flexi day and just have less syns the other days to counteract it, like maybe 5-10 rather than 5-15.

personally i draw a line under it and just work my butt off the rest of the week trying to be good. most of the time it works, sometimes its cutting it very fine but at least i know where ive messed up a little
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Can I ask a silly question? I went over my syns today and had a big sundae.im just wondering how people come back from that-do they just draw a line under it?im hungry now but feeling guilty about it, but if I'm eating free or super free is that still ok? I haven't used my healthy extra a yet either but I'm feeling bad from going over(as today was weigh day I thought I'd feel fine about it but turns out I don't!)

if you go over one day, do you do 105 syns over the week? if you do, its likely you are still under for the week. if not, thats what flexi-syns are for. just allow yourself the extra as a treat and don't worry about it. just get right back on the plan tomorrow and add in a few more speed foods if it will make you feel better!

Thanks for the welcome back :) I like the idea of batch cooking, maybe i should invest in a few reusable freezer tubs and dust off the slow cooker. has anyone here ever done jacket spuds in a slow cooker? i love a proper traditional jacket with crispy skin, but dont have the time when im home to wait for them to bake :( do you also find that meal planning keeps you on track? where do you start?
    xxxxx

I just use those plastic boxes like you get Chinese take-aways in. They sell them in the £ shop and when they get a bit past it I just bin them. I put a bit of masking tape on for a label and they hold two portions just right. For my meal planning: I buy a load of ingredients for breakfasts so there's always something suitable. DH makes our breakfast so he chooses but I've trained him to make everything SW friendly. Lunch is also a load of ingredients we can choose from depending on whether home or away. I have a lot of HM soup in the winter or perhaps sardines on toast or a JP. I often deliberately cook extra in the evening and have LOs. Bubble & Squeak is a favourite. When I'm out it's a sandwich and/or pasta salad. I plan 7 dinners which are almost syn free and make sure it's a mixture of things like HM ready-meals and things that take longer for when I have more time. I write my list of meals at the same time as my week's shopping list so that I note down any ingredients that I might need. I'm lucky in that I only cook for two now so I don't buy 'bad' things. I get DH the odd packet of biscuits or cake (I don't have a sweet tooth) but he's happy to eat SW food along with me.

I think you were asking whether you should cut down on food generally as you'd gone over syns. The answer is no. You can still eat all the free, SF (especially these) and HEXs. The idea is that if you start starving yourself you'll give up and also your body will try to hang on to fat. You've had good advice about balancing syns. If today was WI, you've got all the rest of the week to claw it back and stay within your 105 total.

So glad I didn't upset anyone.:) Thanks for taking the time to explain. This thread has lovely people.:A

Thing is... That's a total loss of 5stone 13, so I do wanna get that other pound off for my 6 stone award

Today the weather here has been absolutely dire and so we've all wanted comfort food. So today has been:
B - grapefruit and orange segments
L - SW quiche (pepers, onions, courgettes, mushrooms, turket, cottage cheese, eggs) with salad. Pud - muller Greek co!!!! yogurt (.5 syn) and figs
D - sausage (4 syns) and bean casserole and jacket potato. Pud - melon for me, mint ice cream for others
    Snacks - apple
Not had HEA nor HEB yet today and still have syns to spare. Not sure how to use them up. :rotfl:

Wow what a fab menu !

You can flexi syn (i.e. allow more syns for the day you ate the sundae) or simply draw a line under it and forget about it. Alternatively, simply allow more syns for that day and allocate the remaining for the rest of the week. My preference would be to draw a line under it and carry on as normal.

L - rice, veg (pepper, toms, mushrooms, spinach all sf) and chicken curry lo from last night
D - beef teriyaki, rice, veg stir fry (cabbage, carrots, mangetout, pepper, sp onions)
    S - pear, carrot sticks

    Syns - 0.5 tsp sesame oil (1), 1 mini malteaster bunny (3), 1tbsp mirin (2)

Another fab menu. where was the recipe from beef teriyaki from ???

Me = disorganised! Despite being off all weekend plus bank holiday, I have no fruit chopped, no lunch planned, no dinner planned, nowt ! What on earth am I going to do ??? :( This bad planning is doing nothing to help me.

Oh - does anyone have any idea on how to syn a home made (fill the dinner plate) sized pasty? I know I shouldn't and I doubt I will but home made pasties it is at the weekend and one is being made for me ......

Oh and whilst on the subject of bad food, got family coming round on fri eve for tea. Going to do something easy, breaded chicken (need to check syns/have chicken that doesn't have the breadcrumbs) but re desert, what can I do that is naughty but low syn ??
