mmmmNH! I was just hoping I might have undone that unnecessary packet of Walkers baked crisps.I did an extra 15 mins uphill on top of my daily half hour. It's better than not doing it, I know, but I was sort of hoping for some syns back!
Does anyone else enjoy baking? I do and I miss it. So does everyone else in the household.Trouble is - bake it=eat it.

are you doing the body magic stuff? you get shiny certificates for completing the levels!

i miss baking so much! i was at a friends at weekend and we made a garlic bread and burger rolls for a bbq from scratch. limited myself to one of each but they were amazing! i even miss my own strawberry cake, its more along the lines of banana bread because its chock full of strawberries and uses them for some of the liquids and sugar but it was amazing. i miss my cupcakes too. theres two very lonely looking Magnolia Bakery books on my bookshelf alongside Nigella. :(
  • Artytarty - just remember that you have undone some of them Walkers crisps because you've burned some extra energy! That doesn't mean you get to eat something else as well, but feel proud that you've done extra exercise.

I love baking and I'm not doing it anywhere near as much as I did previously, and I do miss it. I made a huge sponge cake yesterday filled with fresh cream for Dads 50th birthday (it's his fave cake!), and I had a small slice of it with everyone else.

I also made chocolate banana loaf cake for my OH's birthday the previous week, and I've been enjoying a slice of that in the evenings as pudding, and recognising that I need to save syns for it.

It's all about balance, and being able to ENJOY the things I've baked without feeling guilty is what I'm aiming for. I'm re-learning how to be sensible about my food, and espcially portion control when it comes to the "treat" foods. I appreciate them more this way tbh!

you should have got four FIT logs in your pack, you write down on there what you did then ask for more when you need them. all the consultants run it a different way so you will prob have to ask what yours does. if you are already doing loads you will prob be straight in at one of the higher levels.

I think we have a big board where you can place a star with own initials at the level you are at. Although I walk at least half an hour 6 days a week, it does not really count as I have always done this. I'm thinking of joining a Zumba class but I'm a bit scared i couldnt keep up!

I know what you mean about the zumba Arty - I'm ok if I'm learning a new routine at the same time as everyone else but if I'm trying to join in with one everyone else knows I get totally flustered. I go along once in a blue moon and it's a hard workout but I really don't enjoy it.

I do enjoy cooking and baking though and always bake a couple of cakes for the weekend. I usually give one of them to my daughter-in-law's parents who live round the corner and the other is usually destroyed by my family. I like to have a taste just to check it out but always hope that the others are going to demolish it before I get there!

    Evening All

I was wondering if I could join your merry band. Where to begin. Me.....

Ive done a variety of different diets over the years and well Im a dieting quitter, I dont know what it is, well actually i do I love food yum yum yum. And well I had an op 4 weeks ago and Ive been a sofa potato ever since - albeit on doctors orders and well I went on a mini shopping trip wih a skinny friend (just to get out of the house) and due to the op (and lack of ironed and washed clothes, as the ironer and washer has had an op -me) I was wearing not the most flatering clothes and i kept seeing myself in the mirror and i wasnt very happy with what was looking back blah! :( Anyway today i caught a glimpse of myself as i was getting in the bath and well a very big OMG

At first i turned away and ignored it as i have done for sometime, but then i looked back, i took myself in and accepted that things have gotten quite out of hand, i looked at myself and the shape i had become and decided to do something about it, im not going to be that shape anymore, so with a deep breathe and the magic that is the internet, ive found my nearest meeting and im going for it in the morning, i may not be able to exercise just yet but i can get my butt up the road. Ive even set my alarm (and ironed a decent pair of trousers lol) :)

so if you wont mind I shall be back tomorrow to let you know how I get on.

    Thanks
