it worked for me now, so fingers crossed for you,
let me know how you get on this way,
I did exactly the same and I'm at target now. I found that it helped if I had say beans and JP at lunchtime I could balance it off with a huge stir-fry for supper. I love veg but I'm not a huge salad fan (esp. in winter) so it suited me that way.invisibleyousee wrote: »Thanks kandfs mam - yday I just felt like I was somewhere that I really didn't want to be, and that I was in a situation where I was trapped, as though I could either make a bad choice (that I didn't want to make!!) or effectively have to go hungry.
Just wish the OH would be more supportive, he agreed to support me when I started this and eating out is one of them things that I need the help on. He's so selfish sometimes it really makes me question everything :-(
Sending you a :grouphug:. I think there's a huge amount (sorry for the pun:o) that's psychological about weightloss. Personally, I started off going to restaurants and making wise choices. One day I found myself in London after a show eating a plain JP, an omelette and a measly bit of lettuce (my choice). I decided then that I'd go flexi on meals out and then jump straight back on the wagon as it was making me miserable (although after a while I find I make 'good' choices anyhow). You are in a totally different situation as OH had promised to support you and then took you to a restaurant with limited veggie choices and nothing SW friendly. It would have been bad enough if you were just tempted but when you didn't want anything on the menu, it was jus plain thoughtless. Obviously, this thread is for slimming advice but it does seem a shame that the support wasn't there. Does he realise how important losing weight is to you? Did the friends influence the choice of restaurant? When you move in together will he eat SW meals? It's really difficult BUT
:T for resisting and having the salad bowl.:T You'll feel sooo good when you've lost the weight. I've been at target for 9 months now and I still love it!!!0 -
I. I've been at target for 9 months now and I still love it!!!
can i ask how much you lost in total?
and did you experince this slow down / complete stop that i am going thru at the mo
if so, how did you work round it...
a slow week, i can handle, but a whole month...
thanks :A0 -
does anyone know if the Yeo Valley 0% fat free yogurt would count as free? i found some today cz i went to morrisons instead of tesco. seems to be the same as the stuff i usually get thats just milk and probiotics, but made with low fat milk instead. both say "no added sugar" and just list "milk" as the ingredient. How do you cope when the eating is prompted by emotion not hunger?
MY best best friend gave me devastating news yesterday, she has B.C and will have surgery in a fortnight. I just want to comfort eat and have already had bread and cereal at breakfast and a biscuit with my coffee. Part of me is feeling "life is too short" etc I should be enjoying myself more, part of me is thinking, hmmmm, time to take care of yourself, excess alcohol and weight are increased risk factors. Also < I will be doing a good bit of cooking and baking for her, if she needs it of course.
im thinking of you and your friends Arty. xx
i find it helpful to think if eating it is genuinely going to make me feel better about what I'm feeling. 9 times out of 10 the answer is usually a no followed by "i'll probably feel much worse after eating it". i used to turn into a sugar monster if i was feeling upset but i used to scoff so much it always made me feel physically sick afterwards and then i ended up with "oh god i wish i hadnt eaten that!" on topnow i usually have a brew and a sit down for 5 mins, having a brew for me usually fits the bill for the "i just wanted something to do to keep me occupied for a few mins" times.

No problem. I've just dug out my book to check for you. It took me almost 11 months to get from 13st 9.5lbs to my target of 10st 7lbs (so just over 3 stone). So obviously by a scenic route!! It took from the 6th May to 18th August to lose the last half stone. I did have a short holiday in that (gained 4) and weeks with small (1/0.5 lbs) gains. It was frustrating but I just kept trying to stick to the plan and I got there!:j I had options I could have tried (Success Express, reducing syns etc) but I never did. I just found ploughing on was best for me. Ironically, my biggest problem since has been stopping myself going below target as the SW way of eating is so ingrained.
I'm sure you look and feel fantastic already but if you really want/need to get to your target just keep plugging away. We're all here to support you!:)0 -

Thank you so much, hope i wasnt being too nosey!
i have said on a thread here somewhere that i hoped it didnt take me as long to loose the last 8lbs, as it did to loose the first 78lbs
like you, i hadnt planned on cutting back on the syns, any time i have tried this, i havent had any better success on the scales.
im gonna keep on doing what i have done so far, i have 10 more weigh ins before i am there a year, if i still havent shifted any more by then, i will have a rethink on the target,
if i didnt know what weight i am, (12.7) i am more than happy with my size (now into a 12:j)
but its just weight wise, i think that i am too heavy,
but size wise, i think im just fine
my initial target was 5 stone 3lbs off (12.12) but i thought i was too heavy then, so i knocked a stone off it, now im sorry i bothered,
but i will give it 10 more weigh ins and see where i am then,
it took me 10 years to put the most of that weight on, im just lucky i shifted the bulk of it in 9 months,
thank you so much for the tips :A0 -

im still being very good this week, but i am going out for food and drinks at the weekend for my wedding anniversary, so i dont expect a loss at all next week, which was why i was pulling out all the stops all month, so i could afford a gain next week, but not with one this week (and the week before last)
i know its only 2.5lbs in 10 months, but its  grrrr when u have been good and theres no explanation,
this is bearing in mind i take Xenical...tho for the last month its been Orlisat as Xenical was out of stock, but its the same thing...right??0
