    Morning all,

Couldn't get on yesterday and have just had a quick read through the last couple of pages - well done to those that have lost!

When I used to be a clerk at *whispers* WW we used to get free weigh ins (none of us were at goal) and also used to get paid a small amount - it was something like 20p for every person through the door, those that stayed and new starters, but this was then split between the 4 helpers so ended up around £1.50-£2 each - still, enough to go to the chippy on the way home :rotfl: And therein lay the problems- not only the chippy but also there wasn't a monetary incentive to do well since it was free anyway. It was also difficult to be an active member of the class since I did the money and tally sheets so was doing all the adding up while the talk was going on. For most of the 2 or 3 years I was clerking, neither me, my mum nor the two other girls really lost a significant amount, although I have to say I enjoyed helping out.

Re. reading out losses and gains - my leader will say something like 'you didn't lose this week' or 'you had a small gain' but doesn't say how much. Quite often the member themselves will say it, but I'm glad that the leader doesn't.

Well done- I think the hardest thing is resisting when everyone else is having something naughty, and with all the other stresses as well you've done brilliantly :)

Had my second weigh in last night - was quite shocked to have lost 6lb! I had been good and stuck to plan 100% (ok, 99%) but didn't expect to lose more than in my first week. Must admit I am a little worried about next week now! After WI we went to my bro's for tea as it was his birthday, and since I had all my syns and 2 HEs spare I had a couple of mini kievs, a small piece of lasagne, a jacket spud and a small piece of cake (which disappointingly, wasn't that nice).

    Today's plan- green
B: 2 Weetabix (HEB), milk (HEA), banana
    L: Mugshot, pear, mullerlight
T: Probably some roasted veg with quorn and jacket spud, cheese (HEB)
    S: Rocky (5.5), Mini milk (1.5), butter (2)

    Have a good day everyone!

Fantastic result, don't worry about next week just stay on plan and you'll be fine x

    Hi all!

Well done to everyone who has lost, lets all keep going!!

So last night SHOULD have been WI - got to class, queued up for 15 mins then the consultant comes out and says that the weighing in equipment won't work and she can't weigh anyone Doh!! So we could either pay a £5 for the "image therapy" or take the week as holiday...no brainer really.

So went home and weighed myself, and my home weigh in was 2lbs and 7/8s (lol) lighter :-) so just shy of 3lbs off! V pleased, fingers crossed next weeks PROPER weigh in will be just as good, need the extra support this week!

Made a huge vegetable and potato curry for dinner last night (potatoes, carrot, butternut squash, mushy peas, tomatoes, peppers, onion, garlic and lots of spices etc), and had that - delicious! Got the left overs for lunch today along with two apples. Today will probably be a green day :-)

B: Cereal with fat-free yogurt & fruit (HEB)
L: Leftover Vegetable curry (lots of superfree veg in there)
    Snacks: Apples
Dinner - don't know yet, we're going out for the OH's bday meal, the menu doesn't look too bad but not much veggie choice so will have to see how it goes and make the best decisions I can!

Good luck to everyone who has WI today!

I really don't think you should have to take a holiday because it wasn't your fault that you couldn't get weighed. One week when our consultant couldn't get to group due to having an accident we didn't have to take a holiday.

Hi Mel  Last time I met you on a thread on MSE we were both putting weight on. ;)

    :p
4 syns for the day RM is absolutely fine - what you complaining about! That's what they're there for to be used for things like treats and you should enjoy them and not feel guilty about them - that's how the plan works and remember the old saying "a little of what you fancy does you good"!
I was more annoyed with my subconscious eating of the biscuits, it is that 'habit' that caused my weight gain! I am trying to eat conciously, like I say, I didn't want them, I was stuffed full from dinner and didn't enjoy the biscuits because I wolfed them down without tasting them! It wasn't so much I felt guitly about them, as if I had planned to eat say 6 biscuits meaning 12 syns, I would have at least enjoyed them, but I felt it was 4 syns wasted on something that I barely registered having eaten:(

So today will be EE again (I think:cool:)

B - Weetabix, milk, banana. (heA, heB)
L - Seabass, big salad, slad cream xl, plums, yoghurt. (2 syns)
D - Chicken, potatoes, carrots, sweetcorn, broccolli, onion and mushroom gravy.
    S - mugshot, crackerbreads x 4, laughing cow xl triangle x 2, cucumber (6 syns)

    Hopefully that is ok:)

i started SW doing "1/3 of my day super free"...as opposed to 1/3 of each meal,

i got 5 stone off that way, the consultant knew thats what i done, and didnt have a problem with it, but on the night i got my 5 stone award she said that her boss was now telling her it should strictly be 1/3 of each meal.

i now do it 1/3 of each meal, but my losses are all over the place, but i think thats cause im close to target,

I would find that easier to do becuase I could nibble celery & carrot sticks throughout the day.
    Thankyou:)

I'm really struggling to balance using lots of super free foods with each meal.
I'm not a great fruit & veg eater.

Maybe try experimenting with new fruit/veg that you have never tried before, you might be surprised and find some you never expected that you would like:D
I am not a huge fruit fan, but LOVE veg thankfully.

  • Hi All,

Yday was a really bad day, ended up with a big arguement with the OH :-( Went out for a meal with 3 other people to a restaurant that I don't really like - pretty expensive and mostly meat or fish choices. The only veggie choice was creamy risotto with parmesan or haloumi and fryed chickpeas...so nothing really suitable. THe soup choices were both cream based as well.

So in the end I wasn't going to have anything as didn't real comfortable eating any of that, but eventualy had a green salad with a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and that was it.

Sat through watching all of them eating huge fatty starters and mains, and desserts. The funny thing is though is that I just didn't WANT any of it - it wasn't like I was sat there thinking "I want it but can't have it", I just didn't want it...

So yeah, ended up feeling like the odd one out as they all drank wine and stuffed themselves, to extent that I went off home and left them there. So OH and I are still on no speaking terms this morning. Fun eh...

I think I'm just really thinking about what I want to eat - do I want to eat something full of cream and fat? No, I don't want to, simples.

Just wish OH and I weren't at loggerheads all the time - the past month has been full of arguemnts, I'm in the process of moving in with him as well and so my place is virtually empty, furniture is being moved weekly etc.

I wonder whether my need to control the food I'm eating is partly because I feel like I'm losing control of other parts of my life...*sigh*
