I was going to ask the same thing..
Decided to log on to the SW thread because i had a chocolate craving coming on & was seriously thinking about going out to buy a bar.
Seeing everyones posts has made me change my mind about going out now. There is a reason i want to lose weight and that is so i can feel good about myself. The chocolate is a quick fix but having the weight off me is a long term happiness booster.

czerniacha - mix to max is one of the older plans. you decide on a meal to meal basis wether you are having a R or G meal and stick to that choice for that whole meal. you get 2 HEA and HEB a day from either R or G list and all snacks and starters/desserts should be SF/HE or syned. normal 5-15 syns a day.
it was basically a way of doing a kind of EE day before EE came in so you could have a big jacket potato for lunch and steak for tea rather than one being measured and having to use a HEB for the potato or meat. also gave you two HEB which lots of people from old R/G miss with EE. i used to have HEB cereal w/ HEA milk and liked having an option of ryvita with cheese for snacks later on.0 -
Can I ask a question to those of you that have done SW in the past or for a long time please.... as a "prize" for SOTM I was given a set of SW fridge magnets which have different meal ideas on - I take it that they were old stock as there are only R, G or superfree meal ideas on it, no EE. The thing that confuses me is that eggs are superfree on these magnets but they aren't in the current plan - did they used to be superfree?

Thanks
I totally can't understand the G and R plans and I really tried
I'm just gonna stick to EE I think... I would prefer to have more milk as it's quite high in syns and I love my milky coffee but I can live with it, I'll be just synning it if I want more then one a day  I could live without pasta/rice/potatoes but not meat so I recon it would be more of the R plan? Maybe in the future...0 -
Hello SW gang!
I'm just back from holiday today, and hoping to get to WI tonight to see how much I have gained on 10 days all inclusive food n booze!
Could anyone help me with a Bodymagic Gold question please. Does swimming count as a muscle strenthening excercise? I'm talking about 1km of front crawl, not paddling around ;-)
Thanks.0 -
Thanks evilsquid. Forgot people might not know what it is, I like the added flexibility you get and of course the extra A and B! I tend to meal plan ad hoc so it's nice to have an extra option. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I used to think that anyone who needed to be weighed in a public place once a week and sit through a boring class was a bit pathetic. It only recently dawned on me that being overweight to some extent or another my whole life instead of joining a club was considerably more pathetic.
I also thought that £5 a week was expensive and on my limited budget it was too extravagant. By comparison, I will happily spend that and a whole lot more on wine and chocolate. Ridiculous.
I have never managed to keep to a good weight for more than a couple of months and if joining a club and sitting through a weekly class is what it takes then it is a small price to pay.
It's not so much the clapping I don't like but the cliche ridden, cheesy talk from the group leader. The bit where the members of the group discuss their week is 100 times more interesting and useful imho and being surrounded by people who have all lost weight and continue to do so is really inspiring.
I have about 2 stone to lose and to sit next to a lady who is slimmer than me and has lost 1 stone in her first 5 weeks has made me determined to succeed in a way that I accept I can't do on my own.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -

they are just EE but with one element measured. the "extra" HEB was intended to be used so you could eat whatever wasn't a free food on that day, so on a red day if you wanted potato you could have it but only a set amount rather than the EE unlimited. also if you wanted a big bowl of pasta on G and a bit of mince in a bolognese sauce you could have a HEB measured potion of mince. it does get a bit fiddly though and it def involves proper meal planning so it all works out but i find i have better losses on R/G than i ever have done on EE.Could anyone help me with a Bodymagic Gold question please. i took it to mean proper resistance training like sit ups, press ups, squats and circuit training or cardio that forces your body to build up one part like running/cycling/rowing building your core/legs/arms. the book says its doing weights, dancing, aerobics or household jobs involving things like heavy gardening etc.
tbh, i'd say no with swimming because its purely a cardio workout. your body weight is mostly supported by the water so you aren't putting as much weight or stress on your muscles as say running. swimming is generally included in the lists of "low impact" activities to do on rest days or low impact days from my running programmes too.
that said, if your consultant is happy to accept it as resistance training, i'd use it. my old one gave out bronze body magics for just walking around the block once a week!gunsandbanjos wrote: »Thanks evilsquid. i struggle without the extra HE, i like having a HEB cereal bar or ryvita choice available if i get chocolate/snack cravings and i found i was really struggling to come up with varied breakfast choices that didn't involve using a HEB. i ended up on eggs, fruit and yogurt day after day and i just got totally bored of it all.0
