Hi I'm new to all this - My mum lost 5st on sw years ago and I remember green and red days, but I am just finding out abut Extra Easy and it almost seems to good to be true! However my friend has just lost 4 st and is looking amazing so I am going to change my ways and get stuckin to loose the 2st I've been carting around for the last few years!
It seems like there is plenty I can eat for lunch and dinner but am struggling with breakfasts- I don't have time/ inclination for a cooked brekkie- any ideas for brekkies that won't use both my healthy extras in one - I tend to have cereal and milk at the mo!
As daft as it sounds, sometimes, I will use syns for my breakfast so that I can enjoy a cereal bar. anything from 4.5 syns (for a nature valley oat bar (one piece) up to 6 syns for a hi fi or an alpen light 3 syns. As I'm not a big breakfast eater, I don't want very much but when I get into work, I snack on fruit. Using syns for my breakfast isn't ideal but it does free up my HEB to be used later in the day.
I do quite like for breakfast, boiled eggs with soldiers (spread with marmite!!) or measured HEB muesli, fat free natural yogurt and sliced banana.

Does anyone else do mix to max? Done it a few times this week and really like it:D
I used to do mix to match a lot and it worked well for me and was probably my favourite plan. I may consider doing it again..... I know it isn't included in the books anymore but if it worked before then I don't see the harm in trying it. To surmise in case (if you are reading this and you didn't see the previous post) Mix to Match means that each meal is concentrated on either red or green. So you could have a red breakfast (bacon sarnie - HEB for bread). a green lunch Jacket potato and beans. and a red tea, steak and salad. You are allowed two Healthy A Options with Mix to Match and two B Options. I liked the flexibility it gives you.
kandfs_mam wrote: »Can I ask a question to those of you that have done SW in the past or for a long time please.... as a "prize" for SOTM I was given a set of SW fridge magnets which have different meal ideas on - I take it that they were old stock as there are only R, G or superfree meal ideas on it, no EE. The thing that confuses me is that eggs are superfree on these magnets but they aren't in the current plan - did they used to be superfree?
TIA
I replied quickly to this before class. I should have added that any red or green recipe that is pre extra easy can become extra easy friendly as long as you add the one third superfree. Either serve a salad or veg on the side of your plate or include it in the meal itself - i.e. if a chilli, add chopped pepper, tomato, courgette, mushroom etc or as I think we were discussing yesterday, eat some fruit after your main meal or if not hungry post lunch/dinner - snack on fruit (when you are hungry) instead of syns (like me - snacking on syns that is, not fruit!!)Hello SW gang!
I'm just back from holiday today, and hoping to get to WI tonight to see how much I have gained on 10 days all inclusive food n booze!
Could anyone help me with a Bodymagic Gold question please. Does swimming count as a muscle strenthening excercise? I'm talking about 1km of front crawl, not paddling around ;-)
Thanks.
Our consultant was talking about body magic last week and as far as I understand about Body Magic, you can include anything on the fit log that is over and above what you normally do. So if you run ten miles a week pre slimming world and continue to do that whilst following slimming world then that doesn't count but if you take up a new hobby - zumba class perhaps or getting off the bus one stop too early and deliberately walking that extra bit then my understanding is that this will count. I think your swimming would count.kandfs_mam wrote: »thanks - I have to admit to eating a lot of eggs and they certainly are helping my loss
I think eggs are quite filling.0 -
sorry for the waffle above!
Back from class and feel kind of motivated. It was plus 1.5 this week. Was hoping I would get away with just a pound but scales decided otherwise.
I am not really in the frame of mind to plan my meals tonight as I'm tired but I know if I can prepare a plan of sorts that this will go someway to ensuring I have a good week.
I am good (most of the time) with my meals but ruin it by having too many syns then having more syns on top because I get cross with myself. Work that one out!
So I shall try to get on here as much as possible as its so inspiring and motivating reading all your posts and I hope you don't mind my waffle.0 -

a really fast way to make "ice cream" is to shove frozen fruit into a Muller lite or such, then leave it for 20 minutes or so - the yoghurt is semi-frozen and the fruit semi-defrosted, there are some lovely combinations!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I've not long been back from class, -0.5 this week which is actually 0.5 more than I deserve because I have been a tad lax. Will try harder. Have bought 6-week countdown to focus me - I hope to have lost the weight by then but tbh I don't think I shall have:rotfl::jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

That's brilliant cyclingyorkie (and other losers of course!).
I understand how you feel about the old jeans. I feel happy and proud everytime I peg out my new, slimmer jeans on the line (whereas I was ashamed of the old ones). It may be a bit sad but who cares!:D0 -
Well a lovely 2.5lbs off this week. Feeling very chuffed, have my half stone award. Bit delicate this morning, had DS1 s birthday meal last night and too much wine was consumed. Today is going to be difficult as I have the hangover munchies. Must get back on track as dont want to ruin things for next weeks weigh in. That's it for this week folks.Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0

Wow, 5 stone 6lb is amazing! Well done on all the losses. I wonder how much we lose in a week between us on this thread? I bet it's a fair bit.
We're off on a day out to Peppa Pig World today. We have a picnic with us- pasta salad, carrot sticks and hummus for me. Might have a sneaky ice lolly later though although weigh in is tomorrow so need to be good.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
