    Well done losers.

I have had a pretty good day and am now treating myself with a small 187ml bottle of red wine - if I open a "big" bottle I'll a*se the lot so it's better if I have a wee one :)

This morning I did about 15mins on Wii JD3 then went out for a walk with DS in the buggy for an hour and got caught in the rain when I was furthest from home so was soaked to the skin but came home feeling refreshed (after I'd got showered and changed).

    Food wise today:

    B - melon
L - left over rice & homemade korma (1syn); melon
    S - pear, satsuma
D - gammon, plain boiled wee potatoes, lots of undressed salad, 1 spicy meatball (3 syns?), 2 tbl spoons of tattie salad (made with LF mayo) (2 syns?), 1 tbl spn chicken & gravy casserole (2 syns?) - we were at my sister's for my niece's birthday so I chose as wisely as I could and didn't even look at the puddings!

Drinks - black coffee, diet lemonade, 187ml wine (6.5 syns)

I have guessed the syns in the meatball (home made using 12% fat beef mince, gravy powder, breadcrumbs, onions, mushrooms, egg) as well as the syns in the tattie salad (tatties, onion, spring onion & lf mayo) and the chicken & gravy casserole (chicken, mixed veg & gravy). All in all I reckon I have had 14.5 syns today which bearing in mind this is my weekend blow-out it's not too bad.

Fluff - eat the chocolate - choose something you really enjoy, count the syns and eat it. That's what we've got syns for - you shouldn't feel guilty about it. If it takes more than one thing to curb the crave then go for it and have a flexi syn day.

    Good luck.

Well done Med Mum - my OH and kids are planning to go to the cafe for lunch so I'm going to go for a long walk while they're doing that. I've got my route planned out - 6 miles of fairly hilly terrain. At least it's a nice sunny day for it.

g+b - good luck for your finals - and enjoy your 30th!

On my 30th DS was 9 days old, OH had tonsilitis, I had the flu and DS was feeding 5 times a night! My 30th was 'memorable'!

40 and 50 were brilliant by comparison.

Have been angelic this week - extra veg with everything, very few syns and still the scales show that the extra weight hasn't disappeared.......grrrr!

Piglet - good luck for weigh-in tomorrow...
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j

    A wee question from me.
As a newie at SW I take it if I have 15 syns instead of 10 it means a slightly less weight loss IYSWIM?
Was out last night and recken I had maybe 20 syns and have had about 10-15 every other day so cant claw back IYSWIM?

Technically, yes is the answer I suppose. I worked on 105 syns a week when getting to target and if I went over that I didn't expect much of a loss. So I suppose it depends on how close you've come to the 105 overall. I know 70 is more accepted as a total these days but loads of us got to target on 105. The syns argument is a difficult one. We're told they're there to be used but I think that's probably a psychological thing as without 'treats' it would be easy to give up and not a realistic long term way of eating. But it does stand to reason that without wine, crisps, chocolate... it would be quicker to lose weight.

Thanks for the curry recipe lalamb. Have you ever used passata? I find that tinned tomatoes can give a watery consistency sometimes. I'm definitely going to try this jalfrezi.

    Your welcome

No I haven't but I suppose you could use it but I stick to tomatoes because it works well for me. The trick is to cook it on a high heat to let it reduce. It is definitely not watery. Sometimes if you switch it off from the heat for about an hour, let it cool and reheat it goes really thick and quite paste like iykwim. We had ours last night and I added fromage frais because I didn't have any yoghurt :o BIG MISTAKE! It didn't taste as nice as it usually does.
