Thanks CERN - should have mentioned I do red and green days as I can't eat much veg due to food intolerances so can't do EE.
Had a think and decided I'll have to use syns for potatoes or bread... Despite always wanting them for maltesers!!
I struggle with Extra Easy because red and green is what I know and love.
If I'm doing an extra easy day and I don't have room on my plate for one third superfree then I make sure I eat fruit immediately after my lunch or dinner. As I understand it, the one third of your plate doesn't have to be veg - you could have fruit but you would need to eat at the same time as your lunch or evening meal. if your evening meal, perhaps some melon to start or a salad with whatever you are having? Then that would free you up to have as many spuds as you wanted?0 -

I'm no expert but I took it to mean that it all has to be eaten in one session rather than on one plate.
I think it is about portion control and making you have 1/3rd superfree will by default limit the amount of other food you eat as obviously there is a limit to how much you can comfortably consume in one sitting.
I suppose the danger of not having enough superfree on the plate and adding fruit afterwards instead is that you may have too big a meal and then not have enough room left for the fruit dessert so will have over eaten. You would end up stuffing yourself with fruit just to make yourself feel OK about the large amount of other food you have eaten.
As long as having a superfree soup/salad/melon followed by a non-superfree meal followed by a superfree fruit dessert doesn't mean you are eating a much bigger quantity than you need then I see no problem with it.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Yeah, I use superfree foods as the 'good' plate fillers(usually about half of the plate unless it's in a dish like quiche/bolognese/etc) as I think that makes you eat less calories and that's the whole point in SW after all...0

Had a fantastic day out with the girls yesterday. We went out at 3pm and I stuck to gin and slimline tonic all day (lost count of how many we had though!) and managed to resist the crisps and nuts that everyone else was eating. Finally got the last bus home and got in at 1am so a big day all in all! :rotfl:
Food wise I didn't eat much yesterday at all:
B - banana
L - SW spicy potato wedges; pear; banana
rest of the day - Gin & slimline tonic
1am - bowl of homemade lentil soup.
Back onto it with a vengence today though, more lentil soup and lots of superfree to try to limit the damage on the scales tomorrow.
My legs are really sore after yesterday's jog and my feet are aching from dancing in high heels all night!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

You raise a valid point here. I struggle with extra easy because I like the structure of red and green days where you are allowed two Healthy A and two Healthy B Options. My consultant's argument however was that I should be aiming for one third of my plate superfree whichever plan I was on. I don't stick to this but I bear it in mind.
I have found on occasions that my planned fruit post meal is not wanted because I'm full - I might not eat this at all or it might get munched during the course of the afternoon.
I don't worry about it too much however - if my meals are based around free foods and do include some superfree and I'm keeping my syns low then I don't see that it matters if I'm not sticking to the plan to the letter.0 -
just got back from my sport relief 3 miles. did it in 41 mins so i'm still at last years 10km pace with virtually no effort. :j
i also won't tell you what i'm planning on eating for the rest of the day :rotfl:
i might struggle with SW this week, were moving out so I've a feeling it will end up as a "grab what you can when you can" week. i have lots of mugshots in that need eating and fruit and veg so hopefully the damage won't be too bad.0 -
