No sign of Rose80 either - I wonder if baby is on its way!

Hi Purplebutterfly and other beauty-ful ones!

I'm afraid I am still hanging around baby-less! Have spent most of the last 2 days in hosp though as they are still desperate to induce me, I have had the willpower to say I am hanging on till Monday night when I have agreed to go in. Had a stressful day, the consultant actually said to me "well it would be a shame for a much wanted pregnancy to end with foetal mortality" - for REAL!! Looking back I don't know how I kept my cool. I am only 8 days overdue! (Sorry, vent alert!)

So please send all your poppy out baby vibes to me for this weekend :)

aww hun, I'm sorry you're having a stressful time of things.

I don't know much about having babies but I know that my sister-in-law was almost two weeks late with her first baby. They called her in to be induced and she went into labour on the way to the hospital.

As long as baby isn't distressed and the heart rate is okay, you can safely go up to 14 days, can't you?

God, this is worse than waiting for Jolie Box - taking about as long though :rotfl:

ETA: just Googled for info and apparently having sex can help bring on labour........I don't advise it, that's what got you into this mess in the first place! ;) :rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks PB :)

The norm is definitely 2 weeks usually. And the baby is more active than ever, I am going into hospital for daily heartbeat monitoring, so all the worry on my part after her talking to me today is pretty unfounded.

Hope we are all the happy reciepients of lots of boxes and babies soon! x

That is awful, what a stupid thing to say to you. Sounds like that baby is comfortable and not at all in distress. If your baby and body is not ready, labour will not begin.

:rotfl: well I was going to suggest a curry but like PB I too googled for you and found this:

S3xual intercourse - This works in two ways to induce labour. First, female org^sm can bring on contractions. Second, s3men contains prostaglandins. Prostaglandins work to help ripe and soften the cervix.

Oh Rose80 that's a terrible way to be treated, I would ask that you not see that consultant again! I had a terrible one too last time but only saw her once, she was so blunt and unfeeling! In Sheffield the general thing is you're booked into be induced 10 days after your due date, I cant even imagine being that pregnant but as long as there are no issues like high BP or the baby getting stressed then they should just let you be! I full term pregnancy is anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks and well of course some will be sooner and some later! Well done you for sticking to your guns and fingers crossed xx

SSB are sending out boxes monday so should be with up by end of next week, exciting! Will probably be here before the Jolie one at this point!

I'm so not a Tom Cruise fan either, he just looks so smug all the time! xx

    Hi,
Has anyone tried the Etat Pur Micellar Cleansing Water yet from the You Latest in Beauty box?
Used it twice (at bedtime) but I'm not sure what I make of it yet.
Their website is a wee bit overwhelming but looks as though their prices are quite good and they seem to work on targeting very specific areas/problems.

I'm rather taken with it. I am awfully naughty and often do nothing at night as I hate having to deal with the mess. I use the Liz Earle in the mornings in the shower but hate using it over the sink and getting everything splashed. I've used odd cleansers with cotton wool in the past but found most of them a bit disgusting. This seems to leave me feeling cleaner than before (hardly surprising;) ) but doesn't leave me feeling all greasy or so dried out I squeek.
If it means I start cleansing at all at night its a good thing right!

Rose80, Sorry to hear about the way you're being hassled again. At least you know baby is happy. If I'd known then what I know now, I'd have never had my elective ceasarians a week early, as my body wasn't ready to feed my babies straightaway. It took a week before I could properly breastfeed, so my first kept losing weight until I was able to do so.

Hope things go to plan naturally.

It looks like no beauty boxes until a weeks time then. I've heard nothing from Lux, SSB & Jolie hopefully within a week, then Amarya after the 9th.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

I think you're absolutely doing the right thing Rose80, it's shameful that the medical professionals disregard a mothers intuition. I had experience of that myself and I let them make all the decisions because they had me convinced that as a first time Mum I didn't know anything. Stick to your guns! How dare the consultant try to frighten you that way! Baby will be quite happy to cook for a few more days!

Oh and re: the Katie Holmes divorce - there used to be a strong rumour that her marriage with Cruise always had a time limit, that she actually signed a business contract to be in the relationship for 5 years and have one child. One child and exactly five years later they announce their split! This kind of thing could turn me into a conspiracy theorist!

Will they not scan you at 30 weeks anyway because of your history? You'll have to lie in bed with your legs in the air and tell baby to stay put this time :D

According to the BBC news website, Katie Holmes has filed for divorce. Maybe she's finally realised what a loon she is married to. I never liked Tom Cruise, even when everyone around me was swooning over him.

My first love was David Bowie in Labyrinth when I was about 8, followed by Christian Slater and Keanu Reeves when I was 12.

When I was 14 I fell deeply in love with Patrick Stewart and that love continues to this very day :o

have you ever seen him live?I have twice at RSC Stratford, the first time was Hamlet which i booked just to see him and did not even know David Tennent was in it:rotfl:then DT got all the rave reviews! He is a great actor.
also saw Ian Mckellen in King Lear and he took his clothes off:eek:what a big wizzard!!!glad I was not too close to the stage that time:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:he was in n o hurry to get dressed again either...well if you've got it flaunt it!!!

Lux Box was supposed to be sent out yesterday according to FB.............BUT nobody has had a notification email and it has all gone quiet on their FB page so it looks doubtful that they were posted smiley-confused013.gif

Ooh, you're so lucky. I've only been to the RSC once and there was nobody famous but it was an incredible performance of The Tempest.

I adore Ian McKellen, he was the only thing that made LOTR watchable for me! I saw him playing Iago in a film production of Othello when he was a lot younger. It might have been a BBC production actually. He was amazing, as you would expect.

There's a Shakespeare season on BBC 2 at the moment - the delectable Mr Stewart is starring in Richard II tonight. That's followed by the equally yummy Jeremy Irons and Tom Hiddleston in Henry IV. I do like a bit of eye-candy with my cerebral stimulation :rotfl:

My dream dinner party table would consist of Derren Brown, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Stephen Fry and Karl Pilkington.
