    Re: Green People

I can vouch for their toothpaste, their citrus and aloe vera one is really nice, more of an orange taste than lemon, very similar to the kids mandarin one that they do. It doesn't foam like other toothpaste but you can tell it cleans you teeth. I haven't had a problem with loss of whiteness either after using it. Whenever I've been pregnant anything minty made me throw up so I'm very grateful to Green People for making this toothpaste!

The fennel one is ok too, smells just like fennel, but I preferred the orange one.

Didn't get my dispatch email from SSB until this morning - so guessing mine will arrive tomorrow.

Used the argan oil on my hair last night and it's nowhere near as greasy as I imagined it would be! This morning I didn't need to wash it out at all - my hair looked really nice and MANAGEABLE - like normal peoples hair for a change!:D

Have an appointment with the hairdresser tomorrow and I'm hoping the argan oil will score me brownie points because the mess I have made of my fringe sure as heck won't. :o

Cookinsmummy - The argan oil is really good in hair isn't it, put some in last night and feels great today.

I'm going to be in my hairdresser's bad books too as in a fit of annoyance I decided to cut my own hair and now is a complete mess she's going to have to sort out!

cookinmummy and rose80 you both made me laugh. I decided cut myself a fringe a couple of years ago and gave myself a full-on 80's mullet! I told the hairdresser that I had let my sister cut it but she just nodded, sighed and you could see she was thinking "another idiot gone crazy with the scissors" :rotfl: Glad I'm not the only one to !!!!!! up my hair

kt001 - thanks for the toothpaste review. I might give them a go

I got my SSB dispatch email too today.

cookinmummy I've been using Argan oil as a stying aid/conditioner for a few days now. It works great on curls, so is a double purpose hair product, as well as a great moisturiser for me.

Me too and they confirmed its another June box but I loved the BB cream and had forgotten it was in there so pretty happy to get that again.

Hoping I get the 2nd box variation so I get the items I didn't get last time but won't be too disappointed if not.

Probably off topic, but my mum used to be a hairdresser and when i asked her if the argan oil would suit me she said no, cos my hair goes (lovely!) and greasy quick, and she said it wouldnt be any good.

Does anyone have similar hair type and tried this, and is my mum right??? :)

(Got my first dispatch letter for the SSB box too -tempted to look at the sneak peak, but as its my first i want a (hopefully) nice surprise :))

It depends on: your hair type
: how you use the argan oil
    :why your hair becomes greasy
:what you wash your hair with
:how often you wash your hair
    :what styling products you use
:how you style your hair (ie dryer/straighteners etc)
as well as lots of other things such as your age, hormones, what you eat etc etc. Sorry, there is no right or wrong answer to this one because oily hair never has just one cause or one remedy.

It is just a case of trying it and seeing what happens. If you find your hair is dry on the ends, you can add oil to the bottom half of the hair without it touching your scalp at all.

I'd definitely suggest changing to an SLS free shampoo to start with and see if that helps. Also steer clear of silicones for a while as they can cause excess sebum production in the scalp - don't put conditioner on your scalp either.

You could try rinsing your hair after washing it with lemon juice and chamomile tea, then massaging the scalp with a micture of argan oil, lavender oil and tea tree oil. But it really depends on the reason WHY your hair is oily and what you want the argan oil to achieve.

Aren't we terrible! I couldn't get to the hairdressers and it was really annoying me, so I just put my hair in a ponytail and cut most of it off! Have to grow it now before it's long enough to cut.

Speaking of sulphate free shampoo I got a free sample of a new l'oreal shampoo/conditioner - everpure. Though I won't be surprised if there are other nasties!

I've had bottles of the Eversleek and Everstrong shampoos and conditioners to try ( from Boots testing panel and from the comps board) and they're actually quite nice. The Eversleek isn't bad at all on frizzy hair and leaves it feeling reasonably soft.

HOWEVER, they range does contain sodium lauryl sulfoacetate and disodium laureth sulfosuccinate which are much kinder and gentler than SLS but might still cause irritation to sensitive skin. They also contain PEGs etc, as you'd expect.

I've got my bottle in the "emergency standby" drawer. Nice enough to use occasionally but I wouldn't use them all the time due to the ingredients mentioned above being a bit too harsh for me for regular use.

Definitely worth buying for people wanting to try SLS-free shampoo for the first time but who are not bothered about buying 100%natural.
