PB, good to hear you finally have water. It must have been frustrating to be without a kitchen sink. Rose80, good to see you on here, and glad baby slept well.

I'm not re-subbing to SSB once my Jubilee offer has expired, and will probably cancel GB again, to make up for the special edition Lux ordered. Lux, and Amarya consistently have high-end products in their boxes so will be my only subs soon. I feel good, that I've finally made a decision (until I change my mind again!;)). :D
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

I'd be interested in knowing whether being a beauty bible tester has worked out well in terms of value for money? :-)

I've done it twice; i think it cost around £30ish each time.

I got ten products each time ranging from a £1 Superdrug hairspray up to a face cream worth around £80 (which i hated).

There was a couple of products in each bundle i never used (after the intitial test) like hairspray, bronzer, etc. And i couple i really liked.

The questionares they supply are pretty intensive so it does take a while to fill out.
They do match the products to you skin type/colouring etc.

I'm my opinion its pretty much like the beauty boxes - its good value if you like the products but thats a risk you have to be prepared to take.
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler

I'm doing it again for the green update. I did it before and my mum has done it, we both paid £30 and got over £200 worth of products. My mum got a really expensive anti ageing kit that's basically a chemistry set from dr lewinns from them and that was worth £80 alone!

I love doing it. There's normally a real mixed bag of things, with varying values. Cheapest thing I got was a pair of E.L.F tweezers, which were really good, actually, but in the same bundle I got a Dior face cream that was around £80 and I've also had a Prevage eye cream - can't remember whether it was the same time. I think they normally include at least one luxury product. Oh, and everything I've had has been full sized.

EDIT: Meant to actually quote Marnova there, but I'm sure evilsquid (love the name) won't mind!

Thanks Missli, good to have a chance to be back on, can't bear to miss the deals!

I'm planning to reduce my subscriptions too but won't make promises till I see what deals come up - I'm thinking ssb may try something when the jubilee'ers deal comes to an end and we all cancel!
  • Sat here with the hair treatment from LHC on. Leaving it on overnight, hoping it doesn't do anything awful to my hair! :o in hindsight maybe should've tried it out for an hour first before doing it overnight but it's 1am, bit late to wash it out now ;) will post results tomorrow!

I didn't realise you could use aloe vera gel on stretchmarks - has anyone tried it? It feels much nicer on my skin than Bio Oil (I gave up on that pretty quickly!)

I've just accidentally come across a spoiler as to a couple of products in this month's Joliebox, on the Facebook page of the brand in question. I'm not entirely sure if you get both products, or whether it's an either/or - the prices of each differ considerably so I'm hoping it's both.

Does anyone want me to put a spoiler up ;) or will the temptation be too much? :D

Thanks for the feedback on Beauty Bible experiences! Think I'll give it a whirl, especially if they profile :-) I think I was lucky enough to find products when I was quite young, but think I have got stuck in a rut and there are probably better products out there these days. All said and done, I still totally love Shu Uemura, even if they did sell out to L'Oreal, and glad there is more than one stockist in the UK these days!
