    Got my Glossybox:
Alessandro Pro White 10ml (full size) - unusual product, look forward to trying this
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil 30ml - bottle looks cheap, but I look forward to trying this and seeing how it compares to Shu Uemura's oil cleanser which I currently use
Lipcote 7ml (full size) - this is totally 80s! My lips are quite large, so this product doesn't work for me, lipstick and lipcote flakes off quite unattractively. Will see if I can gift to a friend
Broadway press-on nails (full size) - designs not to my taste, will gift to a friend
Vera Valenti eyeshadow palette (full size) - this is going to charity
Glossybox Lipstick (full size) - will try, but have always said Glossybox products should be bonus items only.

Now the funny thing about this box is that it'd would be an OK box without the cheap eyeshadow palette, but somehow it cheapens it!There's nothing high-end about this box. I'm unsubbing and going to try Luxbox for a while.

On a side note, I'm pretty new to samples, but was recently impressed by L'Oreal Nude Magique BB cream, so have gone ahead and bought the full size product! First conversion... :-)

I've cracked, and given in to Lux's special edition box. It will be delivered in time (if on schedule) for my birthday, so is my present to myself. :j

Just had an email which may interest a few thread readers, so thought I'd post it

    pai.jpg

Thanks for the heads up PB, I caved and purchased a Pai skin oil for £20 and got 1p off when I entered the code. P&P cost £3.50, so total of £23.49 for 2 products worth £40 plus an organic muslin cloth. Now I really must stop or I'll be unable to get in my bedroom without tripping over skin care products. I think my skin is getting confused too as to what I'm putting on it next.

Got my Lux Box too and got the same as PB. I have to admit I like BB creams, although I use them in addition to my normal serum/moisturiser rather than instead of. All in all I thought it was a pretty good box, with some full size and sample size products so definitely worth more than I paid and one that I'll make use of all the products in, unlike the products included in GB for this month.

  • Guess what???? I HAVE A KITCHEN SINK! s065.gif

Never in my life did I think I'd be pleased to be doing the washing up but I am thrilled a010.gif No more having to buy bottled water either - cups of tea all round!

Sorry, excuse my self-indulgence but I needed to share my happiness with someone :o

Missli, I knew you'd crack in the end :rotfl: and grannx2 I hope you like the Pai stuff, I've never tried the cleanser so will be curious to see what you think of it.

I've contacted the warehouse and told them not to ship your August box, so your first box should be the September box for the new subscription. You should not be receiving a duplicate August box. Please let us know if one does turn up!

just got this from SSB.....yesterday they said there was nothing they could do so told them was not happy and today this about turn:)

Yey for a kitchen sink PB, what a relief! Hope it all gets finished soon.

Had an angel baby last night so I'm all well slept and active doing tidying and washing today!

    Got GB yesterday-

Thought the eyeshadow looks really crappy TBH! Charity shop I think.

I like the look of the nail brightener, cleansing oil, the perfume which always gets used quickly, I like always having new little perfumes on the go, the lipcote is a throwback from my youth too! Will give it a go!! Got the lippy too which is a nice colour but I'm struggling to get through all the makeup in these boxes, would prefer more smellies esp. 'everyday' stuff such as shampoos and shower gels. All in all it's fine, but I've had better, particularly last months.

Another reason why I thought this month's Glossybox was a bit sucky was the fact that there were two lip related products and two nail related products, so you're a bit stuffed if you're not in the market for one or the other, or either.

I'd really like stuff that I haven't come across, is niche or does something unusual, so the pro white and cleansing oil were good (also lip cote even though it doesn't work for me), but I'm really not wanting to get things like eye shadows, lip sticks or press-on nails, unless they have an unusual/special feature (and being cheap tat doesn't count!). I'd rather spend my money on buying a shade or brand that I actually want!

I am totally scared to used the eyeshadow palette that came in this month's GB - it sells for a euro a piece in Spain, so worried about what is in it and what it might do to my skin! It also looks too cheap to give to a friend, so think I will donate to this http://www.giveandmakeup.com/p/where-to-senddrop-off.html

Glossybox haven't really been delivering on high end brands (that is their USP) or sourcing 'unusual' products. I've been subbed for 3 months and they have been at best, just a bit better than OK. Whilst LuxBox seem to be offering products you wouldn't find browsing around your normal haunts. For this reason, I've unsubbed from Glossybox and am going to give LuxBox a whirl. My SSB is set to run for another few boxes yet after signing up for the Jubilee deal. I haven't been wowed by SSB, but am pretty happy with them so far.

As for the Luxbox Special Edition - I wish they would give us some teasers of what's in the box so I can be tempted! Even if to give us a hint whether it's skincare, cosmetics etc. I really don't want to spend £20 blind, no matter the value of the box.

Haven't got my GB yet - with any luck it'll just get lost and they can give me a refund! I was actually going to cancel but they took payment before I was expecting it. I don't think there's anything than could be classed as a "good" box this time!

Just sent off my admin payment for my Beauty Bible testing stuff though, so I have that to look forward to. Think this is the third time I've done it. I've had some fabulous things in the past (and some not so fabulous things, but that's part of the testing process). Some expensive things have been atrocious and some cheap things have been keepers.

Not sure what's going on with SSB at the moment. I subscribed to the 6 months Jubilee deal. Last month, I'd built up enough points to get a free box, so I emailed them to check that I wouldn't get 2 boxes one month and therefore waste my points. They said "No" I'll receive it at the end of my prepaid subscription.

Today, I've had an email telling me I have enough points for a free box - !!!!!! - I know, I told you last month!!! Anyway, as a result they are pleased to announce that they are in the process of sending me my free box?!?! I emailed them back to query this and was again reassured that I would not receive 2 boxes one month, they are just sending out my free box early. Hum, not sure if I believe it but will wait and see what happens come December.
