The problem is that trying to delete stuff on the log without being an expert is pretty risky. I'm sure that if you have any security concerns then you can send the log as an attachment(tell them first) the repair instructions might be on screen but the rest will be safe.
Glad Auselle got there in the end.
Now trying to get my Daughter onto them for similar problems-don't oftem listen to their old Dads do they?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Having security problems with your browser? That'll be because you're using Internet Explorer. Download Mozilla Firefox instead:

I've tried following Symantec guide but the PWSteal.trojan is still there.
I've been in that dark world of "safe mode" and it's still driving me nuts popping up every minute...... ??? ???Torgwen.....................

If Kazaa's the problem I got rid of all trace with a little program called Kazaabegone. do a quick google to find it as I don't remember where I got it from. I would still recommend getting DAL to look at a Hijackthis log. They are experts at removing this sort of thing.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I've looked at the suggestions but really don't want to start deleting things, there's the suggestion of losing internet connection if you don't know what you're doing (which I don't). I really don't know what to do next? I've got 2 toolbars at the bottom of the screen as well as an extra one at the top. ???
Another thing - msn won't let me sign in, it says the user/password doesn't exist! Well they did last night. ???Torgwen.....................

I got rid of one of these nasties once using the windows msconfig system - but I think that might only work for something that you can get rid of that comes back at startup.
For something that you can't get rid of in the first place I'm all out of ideas
EDIT: Hold on a sec! I just notice that sypwareinfo's forums are working. The main site has been down for ages so I never thought they would be.
this is by far the best place to get help for that kind of stuff
forums
but you usually have to post up your hijack this log0 -

Things are sounding a little desperate now! On other threads in this forum there have been posts from a very knowledgable bod called StrikeEagle. Is it worth trying to pm him? - he may be able to help. :-/0 -

If you want to get rid of your problems Fran, I don't think you have a choice.
You aren't keen on the idea of posting a hijack this log on the net. How about doing it yourself. For hijack this tutorial

Though it really would be better if you asked 'the experts' to check it out for you.Laughter is the sun
