Grrrr! Drivers and mobile phones..

I see it all the time as well and we live on a sharp bend and they are always speeding when they come round as well. It really annoys me because I live near a special needs school, 2 lower schools and a middle school all within 5 minutes walk of my house.
Another bug bear of mine is pedestrians who text as they are walking along:mad: they bump into you, don't say sorry just tut because you stopped them texting and I have nearly hit a few who don't look when they are crossing the road. :eek:Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

oh don't get me started on this one, I'm invisible enough (haha) without some nerk holding his phone on his lap so you can't see him/her texting. -gaah!
I did a spot survey the other week and lost count!
hey ho.

He drew attention to (amongst other things) the fact that, for three nights running, there were only 3 police officers for that part of his division north of the A31 - yes, 3! So, if anyone was arrested, that would need a double-crewed vehicle leaving - you can do the arithmetic - just 1... so, forget using a mobile phone - all drink-drivers could breathe a sigh of relief for those three nights.
So what is Dorset doing to PC Nick Manning for being honest? Yes, they are going to punish him. That rather makes it clear where the force's priorities lie, doesn't it? A cover-up.
And now Community Support Officers will, under the "Winsor proposals", earn more than the police officers that they replace, despite the fact that they are as useful as chocolate teapots, because the pay of a newly-appointed constable is to be reduced by £4,000 per year.
You just couldn't make it up, could you?0 -

As we went past, the driver was texting on his Iphone- phone propped on steering wheel as he flicked glances at the road ahead, but not the cars next to him.
He was so scary, and swerving between 2 lanes, I took note of his details (I was a passenger) and dobbed him in to his employer.
And what happened?0 -
What really, really gets my goat is when you have a driver on the phone whilst his (or her) passenger is doing nothing.0

My OH did this until last year when he was caught and fined , I hate it, he runs his own business but I can't believe any phone call is that important.
He has since invested in handsfree, its not difficult is it!0 -
I'm another who shouts at people who do it
I was seriously injured in a 60mph head on crash with a driver who was on his mobile. He was prosecuted but not for using the mobile because it was my word against his
He escaped with whiplash, a broken arm, 6 penalty points and a driver refresher course thing.
I will never fully recover:(
On the up side it was his wifes car and she went mad with him:rotfl:0 -

We had some building work done a couple of years ago and this topic came up while chatting to one of the lads. He told me didn't use his phone when driving but he'd been stopped when a cop thought he had. Our lad said he'd just been scratching his ear.
Copper said he could prove he'd been using the phone and called back to base. Eventually he came back to say the mobile company had confirmed the phone had not been in use when our lad was stopped.
So if they can prove it wasn't in use, they must be able to prove it WAS!
Hopefully the idiot in your case is still suffering more grief from his wife than he would have from the law0
