Amit.. It really is idiot proof.. It can only go in one way.. As they say.... "Align the notch of the memory module with that of the memory slot and gently insert the module into the slot at a 45-degree angle. Once all the pins are in the slot, gently rotate the module down flat until the clamps lock into the module into place."The MSE Dictionary

Got my replacement today and guess what? Splinter Cell Pandora's showing up as an exception on Windows Firewall on this new one, too! Got an explanation for it, though. Apparently, PC World were throwing in a games pack with their laptops, including Splinter Cell Pandora.
Can everyone just check to see if they also have two entries under windows firewall exceptions for Splinter Cell Pandora and Pandora? (Control Panel > Windows Firewall >Exceptions.)
ThanksIn a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Steve, any idea where I'm supposed to put the ends of the antenna for the mini pci wireless card? I know I connect them to the card, but what about the other ends?

is this the Processor we have on our laptop
1.60 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 i had used Belarc software to check the whole of my laptop spec0 -
yep did quite well .... although i got stung for £35 in paypal and ebay costs ....
regarding the guy accused of shill bidding (is that right) ..... i contacted him and asked where he got his £649 valuation from ........ he got very shirty with me and accused me of being jealous of his £400 bid (mine was at £62 at the time) i only wanted to know out of interest .... not a nice guy ... i noticed it sold but was then relisted ?
the couple who bought mine will at least know they are dealing with someone who is honest and trustworthy . ....
to the person who implied i and others like me were being greedy : i didnt know what i was going to do with my laptop when i bought it ........ but even if i did buy it just to sell on i dont see the problem , yes its not in keeping with the general idea of this site but it was nice to get one over on pc world , and as everyone and his dog seems to want a piece of me at the moment why shouldnt i help myself and my family to a piece from someone else .
mortgage to pay and all that ...
happy hunting next week everyone ...........0 -

Cheers for that, Steve - might take it down to the local pc shop and get them to do it for £5. Much as I like messing about with PCs (desktops), taking my new lappy to bits is a bit beyond me!
Oops! Thanked the wrong post, but at least the poster was the same!In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

A doddle. Once the cover was off it's hard to go wrong.
The notch is in the long side with the gold connects. Just make sure it lines up and then insert it at an angle (60 degrees?) until the notch is fully in place and then push the mem module down flat. It clicks into place. I didn't need to use any force at all (unlike normal PC ram!) to get it in.
Dunno if it helps but on mine the PNY label was facing upwards when the mem was installed.
Good luck.0
