I used to love the Famous Five books...still have the collection of them at my parent's house..:):) My sons never liked them..:(:(

Oooh I loved The Famous Five and Secret Seven. I think that I read every one of Enid Blyton's books - The Five Find Outers and Dog, the Adventure Series, Naughty Amelia Jane, Mr Pink-Whistle, St Clares, Mallory Towers.

Enid Blyton was my hero until I read how badly she treated her own children.

Happy memories. Moon face, brer rabbit (another loved fictional character of my youth), etc.

Carefree days, where have you gone?!

    Edit:

I was also shocked by the bbc drama of Enid blytons life.
Such an eye opener. Felt really sad for her first husband and children :(

  • I have been maybe 5 times,clearing house 3 times a year,going tomorrow too:)

Well,at my carboot sale u have to be there really early,i wait in a queue at 4am. In the past i left my home at 6am and wasnt allowed in,depends whether your CS has limited space.

Good price for tco would be £1 or 2 for £1.50 until about 11am, then 50p if u are desperate to sell. All oep stuff 50p,id say.

For used stuff, clothes ets, expect to get 10 per cent of original price.

If possible, take someone with u,u will need to go toilet at some point and leaving it with a stranger neighbour, well i do it but lock expensive stuff in a car.

Remember to bring lots of £1 coins, people often come with notes and if u dont have change, they wont return.

What i have learned on my last one,if someone offers u a lower price,it is a good idea to accept it,often nobody else comes and u bring lots of stuff back home.

    Happy carboot saling:)
