As first poster on here about the Lindt bears how long should I leave it before posting on 1p thread?? ( this is sure to provoke a reaction)

I think the adults were in charge at the time, like you said you were five years old.
Let's drop this now, it's leaving a nasty taste in my mouth, and thanks for removing your post.
Very well said Obama. Sometimes after beer o'clock it is best to compromise rather than argue your opinion.

Off topic i know but i know some of you have cats.....i have a cat percy 18mths and my son has jack similar age.....he has just moved back home......with his cat.....its been two weeks now and we still have to separate them to different rooms.....percy is an outdoor cat jack a indoor cat but does venture out when percy is out.....does anyone have any tips......to make my home a bit more liveable without two scrapping cats.....when they do actually see each other......am covered in scratches while trying to separate....them.....

Back to the issue of introducing the two cats, firstly I assume they have both been 'done' - if not, off to the vets quick smart, apart from being less likely to wander and unwanted litters if females are about who haven't been 'done' this will make them less terratorial.

Next, your house is Percy's territory, that (in his view) Jack is trespassing on. You need to keep Jack to a single room (if possible) somewhere quiet so he can also adjust to his new surroudings - have his food / water / litter tray in there, and keep Percy out so he has a safe place away from him.

After that, you need to introduce them slowly, I've read before that wiping a towel / t-towel over one and then wiping the other will help transfer the scent of each cat and help them become familiar with each other. Then let them see each other for short periods - not to close to start with, you and your son will prob need to hold one each in the beginning. Prolong the exposure like this for longer periods and hopefully they should start accepting each other and not seeing the other as a threat.

You could also invest in some Feliway diffusers to help calm them.

positive thing is they are both quite young, but this will take time.

Unfortunately, these are all tips I've picked up from other cat owners, our second simply moved in with us (was a stray) when we had our first cat and he kinda just had to lump it as she decided she was staying. Thankfully they seemed to both tolerate each other from the off, guess we were very lucky.

JEEZ, what is it with this thread today for condemning people?
Agreed, condemning Franis maude for making a silly remark does not make the fact that a married woman with 4 cars in her household trying to transfer petrol from a container into a jug for her daughter!! What was she thinking at the time? Ooh I'm gonna save some cash? or get my daughter 2 miles down the road with this jug of petrol? Absolute silliness on diane hill's part. I would never wish this sort of thing to happen to anybody, but COMMON SENSE does preveil here!!!
