Happy memories. Moon face, brer rabbit, etc.

Carefree days, where have you gone?!

    Edit:

I was also shocked by the bbc drama of Enid blytons life.
Such an eye opener. Felt really sad for her first husband and children :(

I agree with you. Brer Rabbit and the tar baby has stayed with me for life!

Before the BBC drama, I researched Enid Blyton and read how she treated her children. She was lovely to her little fans but was dismissive of her own daughters. So sad. Did you notice that her second husband was called Kenneth Darrell Waters and the main character in Mallory Towers is called Darrell Rivers?

Ad for Frequent, I guess I can stretch to a hug. I promise I will not activate any of the wooden spoons you managed to miss when you swept the bunker, or any of the ones blue-tacked into the tin suit, at least for a day or two :)

    Thanks Jane.

Very sneaky with the blue tac.

Thank you, everyone else for all the hugs and p.m's.:T:T:T:T:A

Not normally emotional about stuff but the support on here yesterday and today is quite touching.

Would goes as far to say more support on here from people i've never met, than from people who are around me.

Had to fill in the forms to help mum get her disabled parking badge today.

So many questions. Was so tempted to give my own version but that won't help mum refrained.

Could be handy for parking on the double yellow lines outside all the express stores though (naughty thinking frequent, slaps self on head)

Hope everyone had a great day, congrats to QPR.[/QUOTE]

Just catching up waiting for the R's to come on T.V. Frequent I've seen all the hugs for you but I must have missed why but
    HUG

Good grief there was a lot of that going on at Rangers :D

Be careful with the Blue Badge you can't use it in a loading bay or a yellow line that has the two no loading lines on the kerb

Eeek no idea why that quote went funny

Evening everyone, just managed to catch up.
Have got my bread maker from T's eventually - despite the one I have got being in the new Direct catalogue but not online??? I called them up and asked why it was not online to be told that it could only be bought over the phone. So I asked if I could use a £10 off code I had been e-mailed, yes fine. It didn't work so was told I could buy at full price and then call CS and they would then decide if they would give me the £10 back:eek: Said I was not doing that, put phone down called back and the new SA put it through and refunded me immediately so I got the £55 one for £40 as there was and extra £5 off.:D
Already baked 2 loaves and just sat here with warm cheese and onion bread with butter and garlic cheese with a lovely glass of rose wine from the wine demon glitch, happy days.

Nikki, hope you are ok - Nannylala you are doing a fantastic job.

Sounds like there are a few who are having a tough time at the moment - ((hugs)) to you all

Thanks MMW - prob a silly question but how do I seperate the buttermilk, can I just drain it through a sieve or something?

Going to try this in the morning - wish me luck! :)

Good evening elite, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Love all the talk about Enid Blyton and the Faraway Tree - I adored those books, Moon-Face was my favourite character!

Can any of you lovelies help me out? I have bought some whoopsied double cream and want to make butter but can't remember how to do it? I have a hand mixer so will prob use that rather than the jar method.

    TIA

Probably already been answered but here's what I wrote down from a previous thread -

For the butter - I popped 2 of the tubs into a big bowl and whisk on high until the whisks are almost "seized" and you think what the hell its all gone wrong, but a minute later it suddenly goes all "slack" (Stop tittering at the back!!") add salt if needed now (dont add salt if freezing) quickly turn off the whisk and drain the liquid off (its buttermilk if you want to use it for other things) then add about half a mug of ice cold water either whisk (be careful as its very splattery) or kneed do this 3-4 times until the water isnt milky then squeeze the water out and freeze/pop in the fridge

    Evening everyone!

A wombletastic day for me today, 4 stores and 40 receipts in the price checker, fingers about to fall off. And a total of 317 CC points!:j

A moment of slight shame for me too, went to pay for some bits on the SS in a store where they have a separate security guard watching the SS tills:eek:...SA moves me from the manned till to the SS and says to other SA "can you help this lady please SHE'S GOT COUPONS" super loud:eek::eek::eek: the shame!!!!

In "retro 1p item news shocker" - I found Andrex on the Go today!:T:T:T And I used a £5 off £40 by buying 8 Dettol No Touch handwashes with 8 coupons and 11 Andrex to take it over the £40! Lovely SA said that they have a woman that goes in there regularly and tries to use the £3 Dettol coupon against food and the SA's have been warned about her! I just said that's dreadful  who would do such a thing?:D

    :D
