life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.
  • I wouldn't normally come on here and post about this kind of stuff, but I honestly have no where else to go at the moment...

My dad had been getting these really bad pains in his side so went to the doctor who sent him for a scan last week, he then got a phone call on Friday to say the wanted to see him back, so he's just been back this morning and there's a mass on his pancreas and they're now trying to rush him for a CT scan. We're from a small town, which means Glasgow is the nearest place that does them which is a couple of hours away. They're hoping to get him in by the end of the week. I know we'll not know anything for sure until he gets this scan, but I'm so scared for him. It was my Mum who called to tell me,because he was upset. My Dad isn't the greatest talker iykwim and I can't quite bring myself to call him, because he didn't want my Mum coming home from work, so can't imagine he'll really want to talk to me, don't mean that in a bad way though. Such a horrible feeling.

Sorry to go on, just had to get that out :o

You poor thing, your mind must be in a whirl, I cant offer anything constructive but I have got broad shoulders, a packet of tissues and a huge hug available xxx

britains greatest has the £5 off detol handwash again but it wont let me print it without installing coupon printer grrr

I have that same problem with that site.

The issue with coupon printer for me is it never recognises when it is installed, so even should you uninstall and install it again it won't recognise it anyway.:mad:

I have java installed and with most of the coupons it will recognise that and not ask you to install the program. There must be a way to do this

    Afternoon all
Just a quickie from me to say that my daughter had a baby girl in the early hours of this morning.
Baby is doing fine but mum not so good at the moment.
It was a home birth and was really quick and easy but the placenta wouldn't come away and she lost a lot of blood.
I had a call at 4am to ask if I could get there ASAP but I live 10 miles from them so it was a mad dash! I got there just as my daughter was being driven away in the ambulance with a paramedic car in attendance too
So I didn't get chance to see her or my new grandaughter, but my SIL said she has masses of dark hair. She weighed in at 8lbs exactly and they are calling her Freya

I've been all morning cleaning carpets, sofa's, rugs, and I've still not removed all traces of blood.
At hospital Michelle was given an anaesthetic and the afterbirth was removed but her blood pressure is really low and they are monitoring here to see if she needs a transfusion.
Other than that...everything is fine. :T
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

Looking for a bargain, sending you ((hugs)), what a terrible time for you and your family. At least your Dad will be going to Glasgow for more investigating. I really hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

Did you try a salt water solution on the blood?

Even better, wet the stain and rub masses of salt in to it.

I'm terrible for rescueing plants from tesco. Do they not know what watering cans are for??

My daughter gave me one of the white ones in a box for Mothers Day and it lasted 3 days. Now I am quite a good gardener and even I cant save it,
