I wouldn't normally come on here and post about this kind of stuff, but I honestly have no where else to go at the moment...

My dad had been getting these really bad pains in his side so went to the doctor who sent him for a scan last week, he then got a phone call on Friday to say the wanted to see him back, so he's just been back this morning and there's a mass on his pancreas and they're now trying to rush him for a CT scan. We're from a small town, which means Glasgow is the nearest place that does them which is a couple of hours away. They're hoping to get him in by the end of the week. I know we'll not know anything for sure until he gets this scan, but I'm so scared for him. It was my Mum who called to tell me,because he was upset. My Dad isn't the greatest talker iykwim and I can't quite bring myself to call him, because he didn't want my Mum coming home from work, so can't imagine he'll really want to talk to me, don't mean that in a bad way though. Such a horrible feeling.

Sorry to go on, just had to get that out :o

The waiting is the worst but at least he won't have to wait too long, the quicker they can find these things the better not point in saying try not too worry. Keep us posted the Elite 11 support group is a wonderful thing. We're all here to listen

I'm terrible for rescueing plants from tesco. Do they not know what watering cans are for??

Don't get me started FK:mad: As someone with an OH that was a high quality self employed florist I know only too well how people can see the prices charged by florists as extortionate compared to Tesco/ Garage forecourt et al for a bunch of flowers/ pot plant but believe me the price is often (but not always to be fair) worth paying sometimes if you want a quality, cared for, conditioned product that has been kept constantly moist/dry(according to needs).

Whilst I'm on this rant should also point out that for Valentines Day, Mothers Day etc it is not the florist that is making the "killing" with inflated prices. The week before Valentines day the price from wholesalers and the daily Dutch refrigerated artics that deliver to florists massively hike their prices for fresh, long stemmed and thornless red roses. Cheaper products are available from Tesco, Aldi et al but it is a lottery in terms of what you will get.

On a final note and to be fair Tesco do have potentially good flowers but only if you buy them as soon as they come in or as 10p whoopsies
    Awaiting a new sig
