  • I have 2 children 17 + 13 and I am only 40 now, but I couldn't stand a baby now.

I like my piece and quiet, glad we had them early.
    I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

aww don't worry i am sure you will be blessed with grandchildren soon enough ..... ;):p
  • Even less time? I am with my son all weekend, every night from 6pm -9pm (often later!) as well as Wednesday mornings 7am - 12noon. During the uni holidays I'm with him an additional 3 FULL DAYS a week (uni holidays being approx 20 or so weeks of the year!)

Do you people get off on trying to ostracise a person? Is it so that you can pat yourselves on the back and say "look how awful she is and how great I am" ??? I bet it makes you feel good.

You don't have any right to judge me as a parent, nobody has that right. This started because I said I wouldn;t like to take my son on holiday abroad just yet because I dont enjoy it. It'll cost me several hundred pounds and I won;t enjoy it all. Its not a !!!!!!! crime. It doesn;t make me a bad mother.

Hi - I came onto this thread expecting "cheap hol ideas" but obviously that is not the case - I've had a quick read of the thread and can't understand how you got so far off topic!

Someone suggested a holiday in France, I said no thank you it doesn;t appeal t me with a 3 y/o because it isn;t enjoyable in the heat with a hyperactive toddler (see above) and now I am the devil incarnate.

I'm afraid that when you're making comments like you have been doing you're leading yourself wide open love.
  • If saying that holidaying abroad with a toddler isn;t my cup of tea is an invitation to be judged, then what a sorry state of affairs this is

Err - he isn't a hyperactive toddler - they're all like that??? In fact it doesn't generally wear off until they're nearly 12 and don't want to look uncool by racing around in front of their mates:rotfl:

You'd love spending time with my 7yr old then if a 3yr old puts you off!!! Up at 6.30-7.00 every morning and demanding breakfast - I have to do it unless I want cornflakes everywhere and his brother doesn't appear from his pit to help until at least 10 at the weekend and 20 mins before he has to go to school in the week. Then he's racing around nagging me to look at his tamagotchi or see what he's done on his leap pad or reading to me whilst sat on the loo and I'm trying to get my slap on for the day. Then it's the dash for school and I get a breather whilst he socialises with his long lost buddies. Then it's my turn to race for the bus and train to get to Uni on time and deal with even more children(20-23) in my year at the mo:rotfl:

Try and get some shopping on the way home before I get him from after school club and get tea on whilst he's showing me his work from school and trying to organise them into doing their homework and helping them with said homework. After tea I can breathe a huge sigh of relief and sit down in front of the news. As if!!!! I get screams of "Nooooo - Simpsons is on now!!!!" So I'll watch the news later then? Also have to get at least a page of the latest Peter and Jane read to me and then and supervise a page of handwriting or maths, whilst also keeping an eye on eldest ones homework and making sure he isn't on MSN for too long. The above is addition to any homework school set as I don't think they spend enough time with him - 5-10 minutes usually reading in a group - sigh.

Then it's baths and hair washing whilst getting washing on and kicking the eldest round the kitchen to get him to do the washing up, whilst he screams at me to get a dishwasher like his mates' parents!!!

Finally bedtime where I have to get him all cuddled and loved up with bedtime story and make sure Tiggey's tucked in with him. Then rinse and repeat with eldest at 9pm minus the Tiggey:D

And then I get to do my homework - Having handed in final draft of dissertation a fortnight early, I only have to concentrate on an essay for anthropology and a huge Strategic Management group project - thank god for MSN or we'd never meet up.

And you know what - I don't have an au pair or a partner either!!!!! Try taking 2 of them to Disneyworld without and then you'll have reason to cuss a little!!!

Deep breath now - need to calm down.

Why didn't you just get him adopted if he's too much hassle?????

ie needing to spend less time with you / annoying you

your words not mine daaaahling
