Less than 200 quid - I'll convert you yet!0 -
Thanks, yeah day trips might be a good idea. I really just wanted to take DS to the beach for a couple of days because he keeps going on about the sea and sand.
When he's older I intend taking him around the world, just not yet. Like I said, Malta last year was hell! Up at 7am each day, couldnt have a drink, back in the room by 10pm, unable to sunbathe cos DS is running round the edge of the pool, can't eat in peace cos DS doesnt like the food/wants to go up to the buffet himself and choose/is too hot to sit still.....And then the plane OMG is was a nightmare, "I need a wee, I want a drink...." every 2 minutes.
Never again! I'll make up for it when he's older!0 -
missk_ensington wrote:Thanks, I've searched some camp sites on the South Coast and a pitch is as little as £10 a night!! Even if it costs me £100 for a tent I'm still only spending under £150 for a few days.
Thanks everyone!! x
OMG! what if you blackout .....your son could get out of the tent so easily and you would not know! This is the reason I do not go camping.I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -
And there was you saying that cruises need not cost an arm and a leg and especially good for 2/3 year olds :rolleyes:0

I know that is why the au pais has to come along too, if you'd bother to read original thread.
Edinburgh lass, yes they are reasonable you can get one for £399 per person, Ive seen some for Thomson Cruises, however £800+ is more than I want to spend, although for many families this would be a reasonable budget0 -

I do, when he's quiet and well behaved, its not my fault I dont like kids under 4. Unfortunately they dont pop out aged 4 and above!! I'm okay for a bit but by this time on a Sunday I'm certainly ready for getting back to the office for intelligent adult conversation. It's just the way I am it isn't a choice, my AUnty was the same, she has 2 lads (now grown up) but as they were growing up she worked 40 hours a week in a high flying role and her husband did the womans role.
Thousands of men work 60 hours a week and barely see their kids, I dont doubt because it drives them insane, so why is it so bad for me because I'm a woman??0 -
If you can get hold of a tent, camping is great fun! We've stayed in Devon at a place called Cofton Country Holidays a couple of times. Link below. It's one of the best places we've been camping, sooooo clean - which is my biggest worry when camping! IMO, camping can be as cheap or as expensive as you make it. No nannies or childminders on site I'm afraid!
Oh & I'm with you on looking forward to getting back to work - well I need a break sometime, it's easier than being at home! lol ! Love DS to pieces, but know what you mean, hard work! People look at me as if I'm a mass murderer when I say I don't want any more children, & that one is enough for me, but the way I see it, why have more children just to please everyone elses idea of 'normal'. No thanks!
http://www.coftonholidays.co.uk/ have a look, great place.I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -

Welcome to the real world  What makes you think he will be any different when he is 4? Maybe you should of just paid the Au pair to have him 24/7 until he leaves school and then he will be far less botherHe isn`t a nice little laptop that you can switch off when peace and quiet is required, I am amazed that you can even make comments such as the ones above. What did you think you were going to give birth to a blueberry phone?

Its not "so bad" because you are a woman at all
hmmm do the dads not work to bring home the bacon.....
My hubby works long hours,he has a well paid job but need to put the hours too
he certainly doesnt work because the children "drive him insane"
You talk out of your backside half the time and certainly dont appear to live in the real world !
all the comments you make regarding your son ,I am quite frankly appalled
but i think you do it to get everyones backs up on here ...........
What makes you think @ age 4 he will suddenly turn into this angelic quiet child?!
If anything it will go the other way ! they get "attitude" when they start fulltime educationand each age group brings with it a whole new set of troubles
Good luck0
