Hi All,
I'm looking for a really cheap holiday for 3-4 nights for two adults and a 3 year old in peak season.
I've looked on Butlins/Haven but even they're coming out at £380 for 4 nights
I wasn't planning on spending more than £100-150 for actual accomodation, my main holiday is a Caribbean cruise at the end of the year whic is costing me a Kings ransom and I'm also planning a few few city breaks, so there isn;t much cash left and I begrudge spending a lot as I've got to pay for my au pair as well.
I wouldn't be adverse to camping, although I haven't got a clue how to put up a tent I'm sure I'd work it out, probably to the amusement of fellow campers. I want a beach nearby, otherwise I'm not too fussed as long as its cheaps and not rat-infested!
Thanks

http://www.touringholidays.co.uk/ is the camping side of Haven. Its around £180 for a pitch for 4 days starting Aug 1 in West country. Youll need to get hold of your own tent- Argos or Asda do cheap ones. Or maybe borrow or hire one?
Otherwise its Travellodge.
Your budget isnt realistic for much more, peak season.Haven charge £800+ pw for a mobile home in July/aug0 -
Google Britannia Hotel in Birmingham, online I got a triple room for £39 a night, two of us in one bed (me and the girl) and two other friends on the other beds.
Plenty to see and do, or just stay in the bedroom. £117 for three nights is pretty good, check-in after 3pm, check-out just before 12pm on the last day.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -

Thanks, I've searched some camp sites on the South Coast and a pitch is as little as £10 a night!! Even if it costs me £100 for a tent I'm still only spending under £150 for a few days.
Thanks everyone!! x0 -

Seriously though, what about a french gite?
50 quid for the return ferry trip
250 quid for a lovely little cottage in rural France
Stick to Normandy and you don't hit the tolls nor pile up the fuel bill.
You pay more for a place near the sea and a lot more for one with a pool but inland there are lots of fantastic (and free) lakes for swimming etc.

Here's one place as a guide...

Yeah that might be a consideration, although I'm very much liking £10 a night camping for 3 nights! :rotfl: And even that I'm fully anticipating to be a stressful, non-enjoyable encounter.
I'm going to take him to Disneyland and Lapland when he's 4-5 but at the moment a trip to the duck pond is an ordeal! I'm not a baby/toddler person at all, a couple of hours with babies leaves me with a migraine and high blood pressure. I much prefer being at work; it's just unfortunate they don't pop out with a school uniform on cos that's be the answer!0 -

That made my day!

If you are going to be jetting off on all these holidays later in the yr why not just have a few daytrips in the summer ???
look for the £15 a night Travel Lodge rooms and then have a day out nearby
Rather than cause yourself the stress of camping !!!!!! esp as you havent got all the equipment ?! it will cost you a fair bit unless you beg / borrow / steal it0
