I never used to be a 'cardi' person but I am on a mission to find some more good quality ones now. The reason being I have several nice sleeveless dresses that I had hoped to wear over the summer but summer didn't seem to happen this year so I thought I would look for some nice cardigans so's I can wear them through winter. So far I have found black, cobalt blue, cream and dark pink. Each cost either 99p or £1.
    Yes, they're perfect for this.
I started wearing them when I had hot flushes & needed to shed layers on a 'right now' basis.
I have lots of short sleeved tunics that I wear with leggings/jeggings and I have a range of colours (maybe as many as 25 :o) so can pick out colours in the top or dress I'm wearing.
Always seems to be lots on rails so I'm sure you'll soon be catching me up. ;)

I like the sound of your spotty/tartan ensemble!! :)
    Thanks.
A good look (I think) for £3 for both trousers & cardigan (and a Primark strappy vest top).

Pollycat - I rarely tell people that my stuff came from CS, I've had the looks enough times in the past.

I have been the unfortunate recipient of Bayliss & Harding in the past, the packaging is nice but the important bit, the stuff inside is the cheapest of the cheap. People who've never tried it must buy it as gifts because it looks a lot for the money.

The days of "someone could have died in that" are long gone.

Its because the packaging is reminiscent of Molten Brown, which is a premium brand. I can see the appeal if pouring money straight down the sink is your business.

I saw a nice Laura Ashley cardi this afty in a petrol blue shade wot would go nicely with an M & S block pattern dress in black/white/petrol but they were asking £3.75 for it.... If I'm lucky and it doesn't sell straight away it will be on the £1 rail next week so I'm gonna be patient. :p I refuse to pay more than £1! Off to Otley tomorrow, they have a £1 chazza and a 99p chazza. :)

After peeps talking about B & H gifty sets they seem to be springing up in all the chazzas I visit now. Was standing near 2 women who were excitedly scooping up several sets....remarking on the prices, (between £5-£7!), one said to the other 'they are a posh designer label after all'. I had trouble stifling my giggles.....:rotfl:

Well I had another wild chaz-ing session today! Bought an antique mirror for my new home at a good price, a couple of good quality BNWT mugs and glasses for myself and niece.

As for books purchased this afternoon: n=28 :o

Eta: saw some Bayliss & Harding stuff and laughed my head off.

  • A Frasier box set for £4.50, all of the series and a true classic. Used to watch when it was on in the daytime, before working night shift. Not sure if it's the nostalgia or the jokes that keep me coming bakc.

    Good bargain, alankershaw66.
Welcome to MSE & the thread. :)

Well, swung by Air Ambulance on my way home and bought a Weird Fish 'large canvas utility' bag in 'french roast' colour (dark brown) with a nice WF logo on.
    Nice brown & turquoise lining.
    BNWT (£27.99). £1.00
Might be mine or maybe gift it.
    Better than a Bayliss & Harding gift set......yes? :D

Bearing in mind this shop is a clearance one where all the stuff that hasn't sold in shops in the area end up, I'm gobsmacked. (but very pleased).
