What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Living_proof wrote: »I dropped into a charity shop on my way back from Lidl, it was such a nice day I walked the couple of miles and seldom go into this particular shop. There were two pairs of unused loafters - one black Footglove and the other navy suede Dune. £2.50 per pair! I was just about to pay and then noticed a lovely soft purple twin set for £4 and it's my favourite colour so I had to have it. Also a Basler dressy top and cardigan/jacket thing for £2 which looked like a good buy. So in total I spent £11.
When I got home I looked up the Escada outfit which was, by the way, 100% cashmere and showed no signs of having been worn or washed. Online the cardigan is £495 and the top £295. I nearly fell over!
I calculate that I bought £900's worth. A very satisfactory day indeed, and I shall walk more often.

Absolutely! Furthermore both sets are just a little on the small side, which is all for the good as I am on a long-term weight loss regimen and neither set would look good 'baggy'. Once I have reached a stable, maintainable weight a lot of my CS bargains will be returning from whence they came!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Today we went to the living north Christmas fair where I saw some lovely 1950s style cooking aprons, sort of bodice and gathered skirt as opposed to straight up and down aprons. I was tempted to get one to go with dd age 13 cookery books as she loves Cath kidston type style they were £28 so I walked away. We then popped in to two cs on the outskirts of York and guess what the first one had for £1? Yep a new apron. Very happy with that little purchase0

Hi - I haven't posted before I don't think as I never seem to get amazing bargains until now......... I managed to get a lovely black velvet Selma Kipling bag the other day for £7.
Needless to say I am very pleased with my purchase but the monkey had gone into the jungle :rotfl:0 -
Popped into a couple of shops yesterday and one of them is only open on Saturday morning in the Salvation Army building, anyway I found a mens Wynnster Aquastop coat in black with fleece lining and hood for DH for 50p. It was so cheap because it has a bit of a white smudge on it, I washed and re-proofed it but the mark is still there it is sort of like a faded bit, anyway it doesn't matter at all as it is for wearing at the side of the football pitch when DS is playing.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Still no joy with the small Pyrex jug.
Did see exactly what I want in TKMaxx yesterday but it was £4.99.
No way! I don't want it that badly. :rotfl:
Bought a fab pair of Next leggings, black with a bit of silver glitter (to wear with my silver Chelsea boots). A bit pricey (for me) at £3.99 from Age Concern but they are lovely quality and in unworn condition.
A wonderful Laura Ashley cardigan. £1.00 Air Ambulance
Navy with off-white, biscuit and red spots on. 3/4 sleeves decorated with a little bow on the cuff and front pockets also with bows on. No bobbling and feels lovely.
In fact, I've just checked and it's the exact colours in these trousers:a fab pair of tartan (red, navy, biscuit and off-white) trousers by Gok for TU. Very stylish with slanted, jetted pockets edged with silky material. Slim legs. Look like wool but a mix of polyester, viscose & elastene.
Could I get away with a spotty cardi and tartan trousers in an off-the-wall sort of way?
I'd wear a plain navy vest with the cardigan open.0 -
Dolly - would a dab of black marker pen cover the mark? I've used this in the past.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Strangely, I’ve seen 3 in different chazzer the last fortnight, at £1.50, £2.50 and £3. I would like to obtain one for 50p.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I think I'd have snapped up the £1.50 one.0
