  • I think I got my jumpers from the Compton Hospice Charity shop, they move any clothes to the £1 rail that haven't sold in 2 weeks but they price non clothes quite high and the shop is so stuffed full of things it can be difficult to navigate.

Meant to say earlier on that I saw a 'puffer' jacket in BHF.
It said something like 'super-packable' and was very lightweight.

I looked at the label and it was (I think) a man's name that I didn't recognise but it was made in China.

Label said 90% down and..........10% owl feathers!
    Honestly.

I've never heard of this before.

OMG:cry: I just hope they are not battery farming and live plucking owls now!

On a happier note....gorgeous weather this afty, (and a FitBit insisting I need to do more steps today!), prompted a walk - so I found myself in the community chazza. Spotted a small, dusty old box at the back of a shelf with 'Wedgwood Crystal' on it, Could not resist having a nosy inside and was delighted to find two small, very plain but beautifully balanced and proportioned sherry glasses in perfect condition, (did the 'ping' test!). A few weeks ago I made some sloe gin and thought at the time that I didn't have any glasses just the right size for the gin. Modern sherry glasses are too big and liqueur glasses are too small. These will be perfect and priced at only 75p :). Decided to walk home as it was such a nice day and as I passed the Mind shop.....well y'know!! Came out with a nice pair of dark navy, M & S trousers in my favourite slim fit cut and with little silver zips just under the waistband. Lovely condition and perfect fit except I will either have to wear heels or take 'em up an inch.

    Great bargain on the glasses.
I found a pair of very delicate glasses in my cupboard a while ago. I won them in a sports competition far too many years ago to remember.
I'd put them on one side to go to the charity shop but had second thoughts and popped them back in the cupboard.

    And wear heels. :D

A George maternity/nursing dress for me £4 (last time I was pregnant over the summer having DS in September, this time will be over winter, due in April so I'm lacking some colder weather maternity bits, can't live in summery maxi dresses this time!!)

And two tops for DS, one Marvel, one Star Wars also £1 each.

Polly - I do hope the Owl feathers was a bad translation!!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I hope so too, unfortunately the label was pretty clear. :(

You can buy owl feathers on the UK ebay website (in the crafting section).

Been round 4 different charity shops this morning and managed to escape without buying any more clothes.

My latest mission is a small measuring jug.
I want it for measuring milk for my morning porridge.
I have a large one but I want (not need) a small one.
    Am I bonkers?
