What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

  • I'm very envious of all your bargains! The area i live in (West Sussex) is so expensive for charity shops. Majority of my books come from charity shops, I've bought 10 alone this week for £1/50p each, but clothing and other bits is always so expensive. I did buy an M&S top yesterday for £1.99 that was in very good condition.

If anyone knows any areas around this way with more reasonably priced shops i'd be grateful of recommendations!

Went a bit crazy again this lunchtime.

I bought another 10 books for £4.50 and 17 items of good quality clothing (M&S, Monsoon and RochaJohnRocha) dresses, blouses, jackets, skirts and scarves for £1 each. To be shared between myself, my mum, my ungrateful witch of a sister and her beautiful daughter. Also a framed sign for my new home, when I finally get there.

You probably live too far from Bexhill in East Sussex. That must probably be the Queen of towns on the South coast for charity shops! . There must be about 15 of them in the High Street and the adjoining road!

fudgesmoothies - don't know where you are in WS but I've heard Bognor is pretty good. I do go to Chichester occasionally but never had any real bargains. Are you able to get to East Hampshire easily?

  • For Frith - when you're on your travels (and anyone else in this area) New Acorns shop opened in Kidderminster this week and they have some lovely stuff, plus a new St. Richard's Hospice shop due to open soon two doors along (near Pavers).
I shall be visiting them soon and will report back on any bargains!
    Normal people worry me.

Bought three books today for £5.00 in 2 different charity shops.
One of the books is still in Waterstones on the top 10 paperback list, other two books I have been hunting for, for months, so well happy.

I do not very often get a bargain from a charity shop, but I did this week. A pair of Monsoon trousers brand new had the price tag of £69 on label for £3.99 , they are the heavier material for Winter.

    That's a lovely top, Polly.
Thanks, it's washed really nicely. I've not had a cotton top so soft before.
It's a bit plain colour-wise (for me) but I have a few pairs of patterned trousers & leggings so it will go well with them.

Yesterday I bought a TU 3/4 sleeved jersey dress in navy with butterflies on with hints of jade and fuchsia pink.
I saw this in a charity shop ages ago but it was a size 8 :o and I've been looking for one in my size since then.
This is in great condition. £2.99 Oxfam.

A very dark navy Phase Eight 3/4 sleeve jersey top with a feature back zip, quite short, with merged tiny spots in navy, red, white, coral, purple & pink.
I have a pair of navy flock leggings that I hope will go with it.
    A bit pricy at £3.99 but -
    I've said this many times:

I know Tu isn't an expensive make but the quality of their jersey matches Per Una & Monsoon imho.
but the quality of the jersey Phase Eight top is wonderful.

    That jumper looks nice Pollycat.

Nothing bought yesterday - I literally have no room for any more stuff so have to stop buying or at least have a one in one out system.

    Ooooh!
I meant to say the same.

I have 2 summer dresses, a White Stuff dress and several tops to go up to the charity shop.
I gave my sister a pale grey parka (which I understand are 'in' :D) to make room for a Per Una coat I bought (charity shop) and have a Next faux sheepskin in a duffle coat style to take up for her next time I see her.

I have a mental run-through of my wardrobe before buying. :o
