:j Four novels for a total of £1 this afternoon on the way home from w*rk. Very pleased, three are hardcovers and all are in immaculate condition.
I give to chazzers and shop from chazzers. The karma-fairy has always been good to me but there are a few small gaps.
Current wants list; a pair of H0tter black lace-up flats, a prestige stainless steel solid utensil spoon, another red wicker straight-sided rectangular basket, and a smallish lampshade for a standard lamp in an inoffensive hue/ pattern.Fingers crossed!
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Tessie - I think the S on the label denotes that it was a sale item. It would be returnable but not for the original price.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Took a bag to the cs today with dd. This dd runs to an eclectic taste in nothing clothing and homeware and loves vintage. She spotted 3 ceramic Kellogg's cereal bowls advertising different cereals for the princely sum of 50p each. She later had a look on google and they originate from 1987 apparently and are part of a set of six. Chassers offer up all kinds of interesting finds0

loving that bargains my best today is a lovely seasalt top £1 love itTessie - I think the S on the label denotes that it was a sale item. It would be returnable but not for the original price.
I've bought quite a lot of M&S sale stuff in the past.
The 'S' is put on the care label when items are reduced right down.
It means that the item cannot be returned for change of mind. The assistant is supposed to point this out when you pay.
Your statutory rights are not affected so if the item is faulty, you can still return it.0 -

It does make sense that the charity shop workers sort and clean items before putting them on display, otherwise the retail space would smell unpleasant. But I also think that the volunteers do a lot more behind the scenes than we might initially realise.
my friend helps in a CS - she sorts out the clean clothes then steams and hangs them - on a hot day with the steamer going she says it's like getting a free sauna
Seriously though, she's recently started to get hot flushes due to the menopause so is considering giving up her volunteering role there for a while.0 -
I think Oxfam have some sort of deal with M&S too, I often see brand new but de-tagged things in there and multiples of it, I've got my M&S sports bras from Oxfam BN in the past.
A while ago Poundland were doing some lovely cereal bowls and other matching items which I nearly bought, the ones I wanted were pink with a raised up love heart in a sort of earthenware finish. I got to the till with the bowls then decided I had enough at home. I have since regretted this and spotted them in a local hospice CS yesterday at £3.99 per bowl. I wasn't sure whether I should tell them or not but decided not to.
Yesterday I got some bits and bobs
Betty Jackson Black jacket - this is a spring type jacket, double breasted with a belt in a thick cotton £1
Navy blue textured dress with peter pan collar from Zara for DD £1
Oasis supersoft denim shirt dress with long sleeves which can be fastened up and tie belt, this will be an all year round item for me, it wasn't cheap at £4.99 but I love it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I have brought alot from the charity shop the last few days. I work on a high street with alot of charity shops but have just quit my job and will be going to work somewhere with no charity shops at all. I tend to wear exactly the same colours and styles so I'm stocking up on M&S work trousers, tops in dark green, red or purple, comfy jumpers, fabric for patchwork, good quality sheets etc. Hopefully by the end of my notice period I will be set for clothes for the next decade. My bargin for this week was a nice wool coat for 50p.0
