Next Friday, my DH is working in Batley and I will go with him (to keep him company!) but he will drop me off in a large town nearby (haven't decided which town yet) do his stuff for work and then pick me up at the end of the day and I will CS to my hearts content.

    I do this too.

I check out Yell.com for all the charity shops in the town and look at a map so I know where they are and don't miss one out.
That one might just have the bargain of a lifetime! ;)

Just going to have a cup of coffee and then pop up to our local Tesco and do the rounds of our 3 charity shops. :coffee:

Brand new M and Co black shoes, £2 Clan shop. Some cars and a car book for DS 50p Clan shop. JellyCat Teddy Clan shop £1. Jeans Red Cross £3, Power Rangers Bed Covers Red Cross £2, 2 DVD's Red Cross £2. No more charity shop hunting for me though for a while, just been on hols and got some clothes/toys so none needed. Not allowing myself more wool, shoes, DVD's etc and not looking for anything else even for Christmas (getting a family present of a Wii).

I certainly don't live in a wealthy area - but check at least once a week and have got a few good bargains (some shops DO overprice though imo).
I also visit our nearest large (affluent) city and another smaller town. I seem to better in the smaller town to be honest.
    Normal people worry me.

This morning I got a lovely slouchy leather handbag for £4, and a double cellular blanket for my cousin's new cottage for £3. All proceeds to the local hospice, so I feel good too!

That's the china we used to use when I was doing domestic science at school! I collect Portmerion Botanic Garden stuff, and sometimes have been lucky enough to pick it up in charity shops.

Just a small thing but was just what I've been looking for so has pleased me immensely :j

Of course DS ended up with a plane, a boat, a wee car, a book and a police helmet, plus 3 CD's for me, all for £1.90 in the local Red X yesterday lol!

Do you all shop in wealthy areas? In our village we have 3 CS and I've never found anything decent in any of them. I keep going back thinking "one day I may find" but still nothing?!?
It's an average medium sized village.

Where am I going wrong? Is all the decent stuff small sizes, (size 16 at the mo. the kids section is terrible too!

Should I be heading to busy towns?

I live in a very deprived East London Borough and get all my stuff locally.
