Yesterday in the Sue Ryder shop for £10.35 I got loads of the Beryl ware that I collect. 6 dinner plates, 6 side plates, 8 smaller plates, 2 platters 8 bowls and 5 cups and saucers. I couldnt get my purse out fast enough! This is the stuff, I LOVE it http://www.chinamatchers.co.uk/Woods-Ware-Beryl_B21ZBN.aspx

I have some of that too, also have some of the Iris and Jasmine. Think it was very common, every day stuff when it was made, our church hall still uses it. It never seems to chip and I put it in the dishwasher as well.

Pair of brand new powder blue flannel pjs for £4 very pleased as pjs was on my list of new items to buy for winter and a pair of brand new shoe horns - one small and one large which I have wanted for ages but never seen them around as I have problems with bending and twisting and always seem to end up putting food in shoe but not properly and get back caught under foot, so large one will be perfect ( so long as I remember to use it ) to stop this happening £2 .
Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Well I decided to try a posh part yesterday - a few stops a way on the train and an area that had been recommended on the ways to cut back thread.

A bit of a waste of time really despite a huge range of charity shops; for the most part the clothes were overpriced (although not all) and nothing caught my eye where as I would rarely come home empty handed round my way.

I did however find a couple of beautiful old lead rimmed bowls which were a fiver for the two -I have filled one with flower fairy lights and one with tea lights and also a small leaded dried flower embossed photo frame - funnily enough I already have the larger one.

    So I wasn't totally disappointed.

I picked up a lovely little pink striped sleep suit for my sisters little girl - a bargain in itself for £1.25, so imagine my delight when I realised it was by Ralph Lauren!

I live in a very deprived East London Borough and get all my stuff locally.

I get lots locally too (also East London). Love the local Salvation Army shop and the British Heart Foundation shop and furniture shop.

My friend got a Le Creuset tagine for £5 last week...so very jealous of him.

Have you tried the Oxfam at Dalston - excellent for clothes and books - rubbish for bric a brac!

Well back to my usual haunts today and had a bit of a rampage!

In Oxfam for £2.99 each a Uniglo and a Therapy checked shirt (I do like my checked shirts) and a loose knit Gap jumper. A lovely striped T shirt in St Vincent's for £2.50. In sense a pair of skinny jeans £4.50 and a beautiful compact mirror with Butterly and insect design £3.50 and then in Scope a lovely green appliqu!d Monsoon skirt £4.50 and three quarter length sleeve light green gap T shirt that goes brilliantly for £3.00.

Better have another break for a while!

I shall have to check that out at some point. I'm in Walthamstow so I'm sure there will be a bus I can catch. I've two weeks off over the summer with nowhere to go so will be hitting the charity shops further afield and enjoying London's free days out.

I got a lovely gardening book for £1. It's an RHS one so useful for me as a complete beginner.

You should have a think about getting yourself over to Crouch End on the 41 bus. There are about six charity shops within a couple of minute's walk of each other. Good quality clothing.

Also the two near Finsbury Park station: one is on the main road and the RSPCA shop is just round the corner on Blackstock Road. That's a really worthwhile place to have a good rummage.

Dalston: get either the 123 or 230 to Seven Sisters and then one of the buses that goes down towards Stokie and beyond

My local charity shop is fab!! I buy all my childrens books there, as they are three and five and still a bit careless with books so i dont get upset when they rip/scribble them! The shop has regular "fill a bag for a £1" days when you fill one of their carrier bags with bits and pieces and pay a pound a bag. They put away all the branded name things, but you can still pick up a lot of bargains. What i got today, was a Barbie beach house for my daughter with all the furniture for five pounds. When i looked it up, its still for sale for between 40 to 50 pounds
