A beautiful, immaculate, Jacques Vert wool coat for £10 (retails at about £200 so I am really really pleased!). I'm fairly tall and usually JV things aren't long enough for me but this is a smashing mid-calf length.

I then called into an out of town hospice shop that I don't often get the chance to visit, as it is only open on Thursdays and I'm normally stuck at work then. One of the volunteers who works there was just unloading her car with donations from her own home, as she was getting ready to downsize. I bought a portapuzzle (not the roll up ones, but one which stays flat), a small tabletop ironing board which will be perfect when I am doing my craft sewing stuff, and a 19" Toshiba full HD TV/DVD player combined in perfect working order with all the manuals, a booster aerial and the remote control which is now in my kitchen (replacing one which broke last summer). I paid the princely sum of £10 for all three items. I'm a very happy CJ.

From a charity Christmas sale not a charity shop, I got a vintage style bnwt flour dredger and matching recipe tin for £1.50 - the flour dredger will be used tomorrow when making Christmas tree shortbread (I have always wanted one since home economics lessons at school) and I hope to transfer recipies on scrappy bits of paper to the index cards in the tin next year.

Exciting haul in Cleobury's Severn Hospice shop just now!

Brand new with tags M and S work trousers. Were £35, now £4.99

New M and S trousers (no tags) £3.99

New Florence and Fred work trousers (tags but no price), £3.99.

That's my whole work trouser wardrobe replaced!
  • Hi

I'm staying in Surrey over Xmas & maybe planning to go shopping / mooching on Tuesday 27th Dec. Any recommendations of towns with a good selection of charity shops to look round ?

Went out for a walk to relieve the post Chrimbo boredom and couldn't resist popping into the Community Chazza. Got a pair of slimline trousers in black with a teeny white spotted pattern. Great fit and £3. Roll on next Tuesday when everything chazza gets back to normal!

    Happy New Year _party_
  • I'd been looking for the book of The Bourne Identity for a while and spotted it in a chazzer yesterday. It was stickered at "£1.99 or 3 for £5" but at the till it was only 39p! (I didn't ask for any change from 50p.) Now if I could only remember which shop it was I'd go back for more...

Possibly a sticker from The Works or somewhere similar.
They do that sort of pricing.
