What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Eastex dress £3 and a pretty tee (no label) £2.50.All that clutter used to be money0

Past week or so bargains, job lot of Elemis hand and body lotion from my favourite independant chazza, just 3 for £1 for 50ml. As the full sizes are £20 for 300ml, I'm well pleased! Most are going in the gift drawer, but I've tried one and it is rather nice
Principles jacket for £1, which has enabled me to get rid of two similar colour jackets as this is a really flattering shape on me.
M&S ozone jeans brand new with tags £2. I was wearing a pair when I bought these but they are ridiculously generous around the waist so I was happy to gamble on these at one size smaller, and they fit. Just need to alter the length.
Today's buy was a New Look terracotta top for a pound. The cut is terrible and reminded me why I can't be bothered to shop in fashion shops! Arms are too tight, and front is way too low so I will have to find a toning scarf to cover up my lack of decolletage.
Also went into one chazza where they were having a massive sale, got a bit sad that there were so many rails of clothes (and they were 3 for a pound) being donated. It really brought it home to me how much 'stuff' we get through. I actually couldn't find anything I wanted either!0 -
I dropped a couple of bags of items off at Scope last Friday, after queuing behind a couple of people, I then went to look at the books, saw two books and I though ooh, I quite like them. It took me a few seconds before I remembered that they were two books I donated about a week previously, good job, I remembered before I took them off the shelf, and to the till!0

Littlepinkbiscuits - I'm with you on wondering why on earth everything is cut so low! I've got 3 vest style tops that I swap round and have to wear under a lot of my other tops. :-/
Ludlow today!
2 Mantaray T shirts, one bottle green and one dove grey. Both with dandelion clock designs in complimentary colours.
Will be good for work with some black trousers.
Have had a bit of a clear out of my wardrobe now as I tend to fish out the same t shirts day after day (when not at work!) so will have no choice but to wear something a bit smarter!0 -
After my spray paint success on my brass basket (which you can just about see in the background) I got the other day, I've been on the lookout for other brass/metal items I can transform, and today I found a brass trio of elephants in a circle, joined together, and looking very much like a candle holder. Not sure if that was it's original purpose, but that's the first thing that sprung into my mind when I saw it, I got it for 50p and it's sprayed and in use already.
Not a very good photo I know, will have to take one unlit in the daytime.0 -
This week's finds......
Salmon pink T-shirt, as new, and nice long length which is what I like! £1
Cream M & S 'Special Edition' top, heavy jersey and lovely quality, brand new. Sizing is crazy as it says a size 18 but fits a size 12 perfectly!! Waited for it to appear on the £1 rail and it did this week.
Small red & black spotted coin purse. Been searching for one to put any £1, £2 & 50p coins I get in as the charity shops never seem to have change. 50p
Insight guide book for Japan. Thrilled to find this as have just booked a holiday there :j
Everything this week was from the Community Charity Shop.0 -

What absolute bargains, I despair at some of the charity shops I visit who want to charge almost as much as new prices for baby clothesLovely Blooming Marvellous maternity/nursing dress, grey jersey fabric with three quarter length sleeves £5.00 which I was happy with as they're £25-35 new at Mothercare and it'll be great moving through to the autumn/winter.
Local hospice outlet shop is in our town centre as well, baby clothes 3 for £1 got a solid 13 items for £4 so yes I got one free as well.
Another shop had 5 for £1 and they had several of the Tommy Tippett bibs with the foam collars in the basket so I got those as they're about £5 for a pair brand new in Asda etc.
Very pleased with those finds.0 -
Got a few more on Thursday all 50p each. Next and TU as well. There's always a lot of Next up here as we have a local Next 'Choice' outlet shop.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

I came back with 20 new books, some gorgeous quality dresses for our little princess, child safety locks for the fridge and kitchen cupboards, some amazing heavy silver plated cylindrical certificate holders for just £2.99 each (usually retail at £40+) and a large stainless steel recipe book holder, which helpfully is being used as a holder for my 17" laptop
Charity shops are generally getting very expensive now, my assessments are as follows:
- Belfast: a disappointing lack of chazzers, save yourself a search and go elsewhere
- Cork: less chazzers than I had thought, but loads of shops and great craic
- Edinburgh: loads of chazzers, mainly contained along the one street. Prices vary widely but I was happy with my picks
- Glasgow: more chazzers than you can shake a stick at! Hours of fun but selectivity is required
- Inverness: lots of chazzers to pick from, fabulous place for bargains at some of them. My favourite so far!
- Winchester: a beautiful small city, buzzing and crammed with lovely stores and chazzers, which also happen to be (for me) prohibitively pricey, given that I enjoy the thrill of the bargain possibly more than items themselves. However there was a Salvation Army stall in the marketplace and I picked up a book I'd P'inned a few months ago for just 50p.
Edinburgh is wonderful for charity shops! They even have a map of where every charity shop in the city is and what they sell (there are several districts/streets where they seem to be clustered). My hauls from when my OH lived the for a year were:
A nearly new £250 ski jacket for £5 (!!! My best ever chazza bargain to date!)
Two pairs of 90"x90" fully lined curtains for my cold old tenement flat for £10 a pair
A pair of black leather knee length boots for £5
Numerous Pyrex dishes, cups, a vintage olive oil can and other random bits of bric-a-brac.

Another fantastic place if you're driving through Scotland is, perhaps surprisingly, the town of Dunblane. I've had everything from lampshades and sturdy vintage wire egg baskets to joules clothing and curtain hooks/rings from the charity shops there.
Aberdeen is blooming expensive but the local shops (Clan, Sailor's Society) are my shops of choice along with the Red Cross. Chest, Heart & Stroke isn't cheap but if you're looking for good quality brands then they can be a good option.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A.
