Travelling through Ayelsbury, I acquired an entire Denby Breakfast essentials kit - plate, bowl, eggcup & saltpot, for £1.75. In three different designs, but I reckon that adds to the fun.0

Forgot to post on here, I went to my local Hospice charity shop on Saturday, and spotted they had a basket of DVDs/CDs for sale at 50p each, I picked up DVDs of Jerry Maguire and Being John Malkovich, bargain!
I then went to Cancer Research shop next door, and discovered on the majority of the DVDs, they've now increased the price to £3 each!! They looked brand new, but needless to say, what a rip off! If they were brand new, and bought/donated as part of a stock clearance, then why not say so?, because putting them with the second hand DVDs, makes them look so overpriced. At that price, I might as well go to HMV, buy 5 DVDs for £20 and spend £1 more each, on a DVD, I know is brand new.0 -
At AgeUK the other day, got a pair of black calf length leather/suede boots with studs on, look as new - £1.
A Yankee candles Strawberry Fields Lamp and Base set to go on the large candles - £3. That's for my Mam.
This for me, http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOSLEY-SOLID-BRASS-LACORD-DISH-WITH-HANDLE-42036-MADE-IN-INDIA-/262561526082?hash=item3d21e2f142:g:wgYAAOSwoydWoG2L very similar to that, that is the closest photo that it looked like I could find. I had already paid for my other two items and spotted this on the way out. Now, I'm not overly keen on brass, but I've got plans for it to store my tea lights in on my grate. I have a black tall match holder, so am going to get some black spray and spray it to match - £1.50.0 -
The OH suddenly realised he wasn't going to be able to borrow a highchair for his 1 year old grand-daughter's visit, so sent me off on a hunt. I got one - for £4 (the basic Ikea white plastic one, but will do perfectly well!)
Plus the hunt meant that I had a good reason to go round the chazzas, so treated myself to a Per Una greige linen coat for £3, 5 Terry Pratchett paperbacks for £1, and a Monsoon turquoise cotton crepon top, just right for next week's heatwave (I hope..) for £4. A good haul...!0 -
I went to a charity shop that does a 99p sale rail as I'm making my nephew a wall organizer and wanted to get some brightly coloured clothes to cut up for the pockets. Not only did I find all the colours that I needed but also came across some bright yellow curtains that are the right thickness and colour for the back panel which cost £2.50 - which is a lot less money that I would have paid at the fabric shop. So it was not quite £7.50 for all the material but it also leaves me plenty of material to do matching cushion covers and a floor pad. Not bad, especially as my father already has the wood for the frame and a few people said that I can raid their button and zip jars. This'll probably be the least expensive child's birthday present ever (I have six nephews and one niece and am childless myself so I spoil them outrageously). This probably sounds awful but the only pleasure in being unable to have children is that I can do all the nice bits and don't have to deal with sleepless nights and the likes. I think I spent more buying the bits to knit his coming out of hospital outfit than I have on all of this. I love charity shops. I dread to think how much I would have had to spent buying all the material new.0
