We have just done our bathroom up, new wall tiles, new blind, new heated towel rail, and it looks 100% better.

Today in Cancer Research I spotted a lovely framed picture of a row of puffins playing around on a rock, only £1.90 and beautifully framed by a local professional who has his sticker on the back. It doesn't look like it has ever been out of the cellophane, and already has clean new cord between the back hanging loops.

It will finish off the bathroom perfectly. The light wood frame even matches the panel at the side of our bath. :heart2:

That sounds absolutely lovely :-) I love finding great quality art in charity shops.

A few years ago I found an original watercolour (approx. 50cmx70cm) fully mounted and framed of our university buildings at sunset for £5 in a charity shop. The frame needed painting but for the cost of a can of black spray paint I got a piece of art for our hallway that would have cost hundreds of pounds from our local art gallery! I couldn't believe it was an original too!

Meeting a friend in town and the local Save the Children shop was closing. As much as you could put in a bag for £3. I came back with a shopping trolley expecting to pay double but they would only take the £3!! Got sandals, shoes, several tops and skirts, a dress and a couple of books.
    Looking ahead

Perhaps you should have taken a garden refuse sack :D

I came out with a couple of books for myself, plus a beautifully bound A6 size "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and warm hooded anorak for the [STRIKE]baby[/STRIKE] toddler. The one she has grown out of will go to the chaz.

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Popped into our local Cancer Research shop this morning and some lovely, cerise Le Creuset items caught my eye. One was a huge bean pot, ideal for making a family size casserole/chilli etc. It was brand new, still in packaging. I paid £30 for it and was happy to do so as I felt that I could pay a lot more, even in TKMaxx. The other thing I bought was a 26cm shallow cast iron casserole which had hardly been used. I paid £25 but they sell for £160 normally in the shops. My favourite colour too and it matches all my other bits and pieces. I was also tempted by two mini, matching, casseroles but I resisted as I bought quite a few from House of Fraser last year. OK, I spent quite a bit but it cheered me up and I can't stop looking at them! I am entertaining this weekend so they will be put to good use then.

I bought a LK Bennett 3/4 tunic top in our local hospice shop, lovely quality jersey fabric and a pretty pattern in grey and white.

Perfect for wearing with leggings and jeggings £2.00.

I had a vague idea that LK Bennett was a good make when I picked it up but was surprised to see on their website that a basic sleeveless top retailed at £65.00.

Has washed and ironed really well.

A pair of M&S office/smart trousers brown with pinstripe, look in very good condition - £1 at Age UK.

From the Samartitans I got this https://www.depop.com/en-gb/xbecka/g21-khaki-military-style-coat I searched for a photo as I was trying to think of a way to describe the detailing under the shoulders (sort of Peruvian?) got this for £3.99 and it will be great for when the weather gets warmer.
  • A day out in Skipton and a tour of the chazzas meant I ended up with quite a few books on my reading group's list. Really pleased as it's saved me several pounds.

Yes, Peruvian or maybe Nepalese or Tibetan. Definitely high in the Andes or Himalayas.

Nice jacket. Will go well with (imho) linen trousers or jeans. Perfect for putting in you bag on sunny days when you'll be coming home when it's cooler.
I'm a sucker for khaki jackets.

Me too! :rotfl: Khaki jackets always jump out at me and catch my eye! I already have similar one but I don't think it'll fit me anymore, so a new one was needed! I'm usually a size 12, but get a size bigger in coats/jackets, and this one was a 16, so thought it might be abit big, but I tried it on in the shop and it was a perfect fit!

I thought it was like a Peruvian/Nepalese kind of design, as my Uncle used to teach out there, and I have a purse he bought me from there in a similar design.
