Re plastic measuring jugs - the lettering on mine had worn off but it is slightly raised in the plastic so I touched it up with a felt marker - seems to be holding up so far! Must see what's lurking in my wardrobe too Mavvy - I'm sure I'll find something I've forgotten too!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

As suggested by Pollycat, I'd like to share my latest wonderful charity shop find from the Hospice Shop in our village where all the ladies (and occasional chap) are so lovely!
It's a Davidson's Amber Cloud Glass seven-piece 'trinket set' or what I would call a dressing table set for £20.
Having seen it in the window on my evening dog walk (the torch is useful for more than 'picking up') on Friday, on Saturday morning, on the morning walk, I called in and asked them to keep it for me. The ladies know I'm local, so said they would, and a good thing, in the interim between 09.30 and 13.30, someone else had asked to buy it, bless them, they said it was sold!
Anyhoooo, it contains a 15x8 (approx) machined intaglio tray with a five inch powder bowl, two three inch powder bowls and a little pin dish, and also two candle sticks. I'm really made up about it because, although it will never be sold, someone on eBay is offering a four-piece set with plain tray, one powder bowl and two candlesticks for something like £55!
After tidying my dressing table (limed maple, matching gent's and lady's wardrobes and double headboard, all bought in 1987 for £95) I put the set out and it looks lovely! Too bad I have to put my modern brush and comb on the table, but the old style won't go through my coarse hair.
In case you might like to see what it looks like, Google 'Davidson's Cloud Glass'. It's pattern number 8283.:j“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

I did a CS browse yesterday as our Barnadoes had an 'everything £1.00 sale on. I really do need some new clothes, mine are too large after quite a serious recent illness (I am fine now) I don't enjoy clothes shopping in ordinary shops, but for the princely sum of £5.00 I now have a Henri Lloyd Aran gilet thingy, two Country Casual stretchy tops with long sleeves , an East blouse missing a button (easily replaced as I own the button mountain of the North West) and a very nice Maine stretchy top with three quarter sleeves still with its original tags on.
So that's me set up for spring with a new wardrobe. I do like a bargain, but didn't want to spend too much on new things. Much prefer CS stuff because the environmental impact is a lot lower as well as being so much cheaper.0 -

6 x plate hangers 19p each Barnados
I could not find my size in clothing as Barnados sort by colour. I can never find anything I want, that way. It does my head in.
I am guessing it is best if you are a size 10 or 12 as they seem to get the largest quantities of stock. You are probably luckier CS shopping if a size 10 or 12. One size does not fit all.0 -

It was the Oxfam bookshop in Huddersfield I took it, their town centre 'ordinary' Oxfam doesn't have books in it, presumably because of the dedicated bookshop also in the town centre.0 -
John by John Richmond black and white wrap over pinstripe blouse and a Soul Cal and Co play suit with nautical print, both on the £1 rail at AgeUK.
A pair of mens M&S flat front wool formal trousers (great because they were a 29" leg and that's what my husband wears), something like this http://www.marksandspencer.com/slim-fit-flat-front-trousers-with-wool/p/p22436881?prevPage=plp but more of a dark charcoal grey.
and a pair of women's Wallis pinstipe navy wide legged trousers. Both 25p each from the Samaritans shop.0
