Oooo they're nice! Yes, I think you got a bargain there! I've got some similar in design but a lower heel, I don't think I could manage with a heel that high and thin!0

I have lots of shoes in my wardrobe with very high heels but I think I'm too old to wear them. My feet complain! :rotfl:0 -
Today's hospice chazza sale only produced an M & S long jersey pencil skirt in dark brown, £1.50, (now where did I put those Spanx!!).
Just noticed today than another national chain-type chazza has closed down in the shopping centre due to rent increases. This is the second in the last couple of weeks! Oh well, we still have 7 left plus the twice weekly hospice sale.
Nearly had a panic attack in the BHF shop. It's a long narrow shop with rails along the side walls and a double width rail down the middle. There is just room for one person to walk around in the remaining gap which is fine if everyone goes at the same speed and in the same direction! Three women came in with hyoooge pushchairs which caused a complete logjam and several of us were trapped at the far end away from the entrance.. One woman started to feel faint as the shops is overheated but the staff did nothing. Hate to think what would have happened if there had been a fire.....:(0 -
Sorry - when I said 'smaller heel', I did mean 'not as high' - about 2.5 inch. High enough to look dressy, low enough to be comfy when dancing (70/80/90s disco).

Just looked at the pic before, didn't see your text above!
I like abit of a heel but having sprained my ankles twice, I'd be terrified on anything that high! :eek:0 -

I really don't understand the current trend of 'buy a pram the size of a baby Hummer and then get in everybody's way'. Is 'yummy mummies with pram' rage a thing? In the days where you can buy just about everything online it's completely unnecessary to have a pram the size of a shopping trolley.
I've lost count as well of the number of times that said parents have huffed and puffed about having to fold their prams to let a wheelchair user onto a bus - one is for your convenience, one is an essential mobility aid. I only donate to charities that I know run shops and also sell books, handbags, fancy goods etc. Some of the bags that come through the door
are just giving a percentage of the money that the clothes fetch in Africa or somewhere. I don't like to think of my clothes ending up in a rag-bag somewhere either!Normal people worry me.0 -
Strolling in the chilly sunshine today & I managed to get a MUZZY multi lingual course for my daughter for £5. I've been wanting one for the last couple of years but at £145 on Amazon & bbc website I couldn't justify the cost. Absolutely delighted.:j
Also managed to get a brand new with tags on ASOS shirt for my husband for £4- just checked their website & it's still available for £28. Very happy with my little haul:)0 -
Polly - luuuurve the shoes! Like you I loved my heels but prefer to go a bit lower now for comfort (& balance!) I can just imagine you in your ' scruffs' with ritzy shoes
hope they'll be more comfy for you.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

I have the right one on at the moment - that's the one that's a bit tight.
I've got a trainer sock on to help with the stretching - I plan to wear them with 10 denier glossy black tights.
I have a trainer on my left foot so look even sillier than I did yesterday. :rotfl:
I'm sure they're going to be fine (she says with fingers crossed)._party_0 -
Found a double-bowl battery operated automatic cat feeder in RSPCA shop for £2.50. Excellent condition, looks brand new. Charlie (the cat) is not impressed as it means we can go out for longer (the timers can be set individually for anything up to 24 hours).
Also in the same shop, a box of scarves and winter woolies, 50p each and bogof! Found a gorgeous soft (no label but feels like wool) checked turquoise and pale pink scarf, really wide which I like as the narrow ones don't keep the back of my neck warm, and also a New Look pale pink beret which goes perfectly with the scarf. Both for 50p so excellent bargain :j .I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
