Haha - I can't say I can see. PA making a Tagine - so yours may have been by Royal Appointment. Its certainly too beautiful to use! I think it could become e an heirloom so print off a copy of the blurb for future reference! Well spotted.
ETA: I wonder if these are numbered???Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I bought an Ann Harvey silk/linen jacket for £5. It had never been worn. Similarly an M & S merino cardigan for £5, again unworn.
My best bargain however was from the big Sunday market/car boot that used to be in Exeter. A trader was selling second hand clothes for £1 and I bought a 100% wool jacket. When I got it home I checked the pockets and there was nearly £3 in change in one of them. That's what I call a bargain:T0 -
soup ladle- £1
Thai vegetarian cook book- £1
Entertainment whilst a Sales Assistant did the hard sell on a sequinned tent-like garment, inc modelling it and describing the historical size fluctuations of her boobs to a bemused customer who didn't speak much English- freeThey are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
Went to my local Hospice charity shop, and found that it's in a bad shape following flooding from a pipe or the heating system(?) All the carpet's been taken up, and everything (bar books) are a £1, till further notice (according to the conversation I overheard) It's a real shame as it's a lovely local charity shop, be a shame if they use the flood as an excuse to close it down.
Anyway, paperback books were 50p each or 3 for £1, so I bought Shadow by Michael Morpurgo, Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick, and The Distant Echo by Val McDermid. The Val McDermid book isn't in great shape, but for around 33p, I thought it wasn't bad, as it would cost me more than that in borrowing fees from the library.0 -

Our local hospice shop in a nearby town has been closed since the floods last year. Your post reminded me to check whether it was open again or not (it had mentioned January), but according to the website, it won't be until April now. It's only a tiny little shop, I hope it opens again soon.0 -
We have just done our bathroom up, new wall tiles, new blind, new heated towel rail, and it looks 100% better.
Today in Cancer Research I spotted a lovely framed picture of a row of puffins playing around on a rock, only £1.90 and beautifully framed by a local professional who has his sticker on the back. It doesn't look like it has ever been out of the cellophane, and already has clean new cord between the back hanging loops.
It will finish off the bathroom perfectly. The light wood frame even matches the panel at the side of our bath. :heart2:I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Nice bargain, Bogof_Babe - I love puffins, I think they're birds that make you smile whenever you see a photo of them.
I've been after a burnt orange cardigan for ages to wear with my maxi dresses in the summer and found a perfect Ben De Lisi Principles one with lovely buttons in a local charity shop - and it's 'petite'. £3.990 -
I hesitate to say BNWT as it's probably over 30 years old...
I've had to get rid of most of my trousers and jeans as I've lost a lot of weight recently and I've been looking round for replacements.
A pair of black, slim leg, peg top trousers with the original tags attached.
The waistband is so high it almost needs armholes.
The fabric is good quality, I can shorten the legs to get rid of the faux turn-ups that were fashionable in the 80s and, being slim leg, there isn't any excess fabric flapping round my ankles.
£3.99 PDSA Wolverhampton:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Popped into my local CLAN shop to donate 3 bags of stuff and bagged myself:
- 2 joules thick stripy long sleeve tops (pink and white) for £4 each (RRP £25)
- a GAP smart geometric print, fully lined dress for £6 (RRP £40)
- Arran aromatics 'After the Rain' shower gel and shampoo for £1 each (RRP £8 each!)
- a cat ring holder for £1 that I saw in a gift shop yesterday for £5“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. TappingI'm finding my way back to sanity again... but I don't really know what I'm gonna do when I get there~ LifehouseWhat’s fur ye will make go by ye… but also what’s not fur ye, ye can jist scroll on by!0
