What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Was driving in the city yesterday, and drove past a new charity shop. At least I think it's new, as I can't remember it being there last time I was through?
It's a furniture shop for a local hospice, but I could also see that they sold a lot of knick-nacks too. My Mam who can't stand CS's tried to talk me out of it by saying I didn't need any new furniture, but that didn't stop me!....she waited in the car!
A couple of little pocket books caught my eye. One was an A-Z (and how to count to 20 in Cumbrian) of Cumbrian words for my Uncle, and a 'Know your sheep' book for my Aunty! Both intended as a joke present more than anything, although I know my Uncle will love the Cumbrian sayings book, and my Aunty might find her book interesting....they're both Ramblers, and she has a few sheep ornaments! However, she hates charity shops and my uncle loves them, so I'll probably get a telling off for encouraging him! :rotfl:
I got myself a Cumbrian (bit of a theme going there!) cookery book!
All books were 50p each.0 -
Another one who has picked up Le Creuset this week: £10 griddle pan in BHF. It looks a little tired- someone had clearly been struggling to shift the burnt residue on it, but I've been giving it a go with some coarse salt and warm water and it's looking miles better.
Also managed to pick up a brand new Barbour jacket for £20 in our local hospice shop- I've never ran to the till as fast. It's a size too large, but works well over thick jumpers (and I'm kidding myself if I think I'll stay my current size forever!!).
Both items you buy once and can keep for ever- appeases my money saving natureAugust grocery challenge: £120/£1800 -
Nothing much to report lately......bargains been thin on the ground but yesterday I found a pair of, as new, stone coloured M & S 3/4 trousers in the BHF shop for £2.790

That's fab! I found a red lightweight quilted Barbour jacket for £10 last year - I overheard two women discussing it but it didn't fit either of them so they reluctantly put it back so I nabbed it once they'd left the shop as it fit me perfectly!
A few years ago I also found a Barbie-pink size 8 BNWT heavy proper quilted Barbour jacket for £30 in a charity shop - not my colour and at least a size too small for me but it's amazing that people donate Barbour jackets in nearly new condition!“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. A 'looks like new' mini Totes umbrella £1.99.
A 'looks unused' leather purse £3.99.
Both from Oxfam.
Please do not ask me why I was in Oxfam when I'd popped to Tesco for a carton of creme fraiche - which is a vital ingredient for tomorrow's dinner....
OK.
So do I need another mini umbrella?
Probably not.
But I liked it.
The purse is lime green.
I love it.
But I bought it for my sis whose old plastic one is shedding it's skin.
Will she like it?
Maybe. Maybe not.
But if she doesn't, I can add it to my collection.
So there.0 -

It would have been approximately ten pounds new so sounds like a bargain to me. X0
