a pure cotton blouse for £3 in navy and white which will go with my navy jumpers. Very happy!

The label read "Anthropology" which, it turns out, is a JD Williams (catalogue people) brand ...... the posh shop spells it another way:rotfl:
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Today I got a BNWT M& Co summer lightweight jacket which will be fab for work or with jeans. Dark grey and white. Original price was £35 and I paid £2.99. This was in Debra.

Mandarin Duck handbag £6.95 Cancer shop

Are they bargains? I wanted them anyway.

I got a Mandarina bag from a charity shop last year. Paid £6 for it, its a cross body one. Realised it was lovely leather and looked online. £90 worth of bag and it looked new. Im using it today actually. Think its an American brand, Amazon have some. I also got mandarina perfume in a different charity shop for £5 not long ago.

Been meaning to ask - has anyone else noticed that loads of Baylis & Harding toiletries seem to end up in c/shops? Far far more than any other brand. It's good stuff too, so I can't understand why I'm always seeing it (and buying it!).

Unless it is unwanted gifts that were given to people who don't use such things, but all the same I'd have expected an equivalent amount of Sanctuary, Boots, M&S etc. It seems to be all year round too, not just post-Xmas. Very puzzling.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Possibly because the supermarkets couldn't sell it to everyone who's working through a stash?!

I think Baylis and Harding is an acquired taste. I've had a couple I've liked and many I've hated. It's the "cheap" Molton Brown but it's so different.

I find it ridiculous spending £15 on a bottle of hand wash or shower gel and go through far too much to ever buy it for myself but my OH always buys a bottle for himself when we go through airports. Once you've tried the "real thing", it's hard to like Baylis and Harding, however cheap it is compared with Molton Brown. I, personally, find that they tend to have a base layer of 'cheap generic perfume chemical' smell and it puts me off a lot of them. But I know some people find Molton Brown equally strong and off putting.

    Each to their own!

  • Bayliss and Harding gift sets were everywhere over Christmas, and they sell them cheap in places like bodycare. People were probably over run with them!

Congratulations on expecting! I bought loads of baby stuff from charity shops, car boots and facebook selling sites when I was expecting my last baby. Getting uber cute baby bits at next to nothing has an extra special bargain hunting thrill - have fun!
I am amazed at my own sister's recent conversion! I bought my niece loads of stuff (clothes and items) from the chaz but didn't actually admit the source, as she looked down on the practice and didn't want her baby in second hand clothes. Now she's even more excited than I am about the prospect of dropping into a chaz, even before she's struck a bargain :)

I am still ahead of the game though...my latest "bargain" was actually from Freecyle, an electronic Fisher-Price toy that retails at £45. My niece 's outgrown clothes will go back to the chaz, toys to Freecycle.

I refuse to spend a lot on something that is going to go down the drain! On that principle, my hand washes and shower gels come from Poundland.

I was drawn into a chaz this lunchtime by a quality piece of furniture displayed in a window at a bargain price - far too grand for my humble abode, but a good deal for someone. I also spotted a nice M&S winter coat with fur lining and trims, barely worn. It was mine for £6 :)

With the second hand baby stuff - my hubby was the same, didn't want anything second hand so i used to tell him I had bought it all new, he believed me then worried I was getting into loads of debt so I had to confess that the Monsoon white gorgeous baby jeans cost me 30p at the booty and the next lovely coat was 75p in the chazza! he still didn't like it! 12 years later when we had our last baby I convinced him by washing everything in Napisan (sp? used to be cheap in wilcos).

My first Galt Octons @ 50p was my best bargain recently, they are around £9 on ebay. They were for work but my little girl loves them so when she out grows them I will donate them into work!

Also - has anyone seen walking sticks in Chazzas? I need one for a play (i work with kids and often need props!) thought i would definitely find one in a chazza but no luck so far... wondering if its one of those things they don't sell/.are unable to sell....I shall keep looking!
