I missed the bargain of the year today by being indecisive. Our local CS had a double electric bed base in full working order for £80. I dithered about having to buy two separate mattresses and sheets, and what would I do with the existing bed, blah blah blah. And along came a woman who ripped the price tag off it, took it to the counter, and promptly bought it.

On my return I looked up the king size dunlopillo electric bed. £2,449. No point crying over spilt milk, but a bit of a bummer to miss that.

Yesterday hubby had to go to work for a few hours, so I grabbed a lift and hit the charity shops near his work! got a lovely baby doll with a beautiful outfit plus coat for £2.50p my little girl was incredibly happy with her doll.

I also got my daughter a lovely pair of M&S cord trousers, H&M Shorts and a shirt in the 3 for £1 bin in a different shop. The M&S cords are mint condition - definitely my best chazza bargain for a while.

Also got the other day a Seersucker table cloth for £1 - its only small but will get mega brownie points when I give it to my Mum as she loves these table cloths.
Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)

    Hello everyone :)

Haven't been charity shopping as much as usual lately since I had my daughter 5 weeks ago. Couple of bargains from the rare chances I've had to pop to the shops:

*Full size Soap and Glory smellies £1.50 (same things still in Boots for £8 each)
*Some Next girls jumpers for £1 each - I buy my son and daughter things as and when I see them to put up for future.
*Joesph Joseph Retro Vinyl glass chopping board £2

    Happy shopping!!

  • hello ladies, I visited Birmingham for a court hearing last week and was lured to the BHF opposite the court whilst waiting for my order to be drafted.

    I bought this for £3: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-Fisher-Price-Arthur-Caterpillar/dp/B004QJ3T9U and this for £4 http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Laugh-Learn-Magic-Market/dp/B007J3FA7Y

The till has a retail value of $45 alone and I imagine the caterpillar was at least £25. The till works perfectly but the caterpillar had a leaky battery lodged inside so it wouldn't work even when I put new batteries in. I cleared it out and scraped off the leakiness, tried it with some new batteries again and it worked! :T

Very pleased and have put them away for when my little girl turns two in May, she'll be thrilled!

Can't wait to start baby shopping, my local CSs have had some lovely stuff lately, few more weeks!!

Congratulations on expecting! I bought loads of baby stuff from charity shops, car boots and facebook selling sites when I was expecting my last baby. Getting uber cute baby bits at next to nothing has an extra special bargain hunting thrill - have fun! x

Have you seen the price of Mandarin Duck bags?

    And Weird Fish jackets?

Picked up a little dish in our hospice shop this morning for 25p.
Perfect to stand my pepper and salt grinder in on my worktop.

It didn't have a mark on the bottom but I knew it was Denby Daybreak as soon as I set eyes on it.
