I've not had much success recently but last week I got a bright fushia Monsoon blouse for £3 and today a cute little Charlie and Lola t shirt and shorts for my DGD for £1.50 and a pair of white shorts for my DD who is 17, also for £1.50. I love reading about everyone else's finds but it does make my area seem rather expensive!!

Some areas are cheaper than other but I know for the area I go to (as where I live they have 1 CS), they have at least 7 CS's. Now being a volunteer in one (keeps me sane whilst I'm job hunting and I believe it's doing something good, karma and all that :o), I can let you into a few secrets. The larger charities tend to get some new stock direct from shops i.e. what they don't sell they donate, as well as being slightly pickier about what they will put out on their racks/shelves. Some will keep the original price tags on the new items (so you can see what it originally cost) some won't. Its up to the discretion of the manager of the shop to decide on prices, some are better than others as they research brands and what price the items were new i.e. I've seen Primark and M&S tops side by side in other CS for the same price simply because the manager may not realise what shop 'Atmosphere' is. My suggestion would be find an area where you have at least 4 CS in close proximity, you'll find prices competitive and at least 2 will have new stock. Hope this helps.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

I know this isn't about something I have brought but is charity shop related. I was watching a old episode of flog it of tv this afternoon, and a woman had 2 moorcroft vases, she had paid £2 each in a charity shop, they sold for over £600 and the nice thing was she was going to donate some of it back to the shop she got them from.

I volunteer in a CS too. Today I got a pair of thin curtains, as new with a bright striped pattern. Instantly thought they would make a good tablecloth for my garden table which is looking a bit rough these days. Will take the heading tape off, great thing is there are 2 curtains which means 2 tablecloths. Also got a brand new with tags M&S swimming costume which is lovely. Curtains were £4 and swimming costume £2.

Well I've just sorted out the heatwave for you all! Bought four sleeveless or very short sleeved lightweight blouses, 2 @ £2.99, 2 @ £2, so I'm kitted out for £10 ready for the next hot spell. Last weekend I was surprised to find I didn't actually own anything appropriate for such high temperatures.

Of course this means that the rest of the year will be more like... :snow_laug

I had a dream the other night that a friend of mine (who passed away 8 years ago) gave me £10 to go get the shoes at the charity shop. Bit of a bizarre dream but I thought it was worth the punt so had a look in our local CS's - last one I went into had a pair of gorgeous summer pumps, just like I'd been looking for, no wear on the bottom and from the stiffness in the sides I'd say they've never been worn. £4 and they fit so nicely!

Other finds along the way this week.

2 M&S short sleeved shirts for DH £1.99 each
    1 M&S polo shirt - new £1.50

Tunic dress for me, fell in love with it in Evans last Autumn but couldn't afford the £35 price tag....was more than happy to pay £3 for it though!

Retro pink flowery duvet cover to use for patchwork £1

DD1 fell in love with a dress for £1 but it's too big so I'm going to teach her how to take it in and up.

Denim jacket for DD1 £1 - it had a mark on it but it's washed out fine and was worth the chance.

    Hi all:wave:

    Wow! Great bargains everyone!

Sorry, forgotten who got the mahooosive cream mixing bowl for under a £. I've seen a lot of these in CS lately at a lot, lot more. Some were even more expensive than buying brand new from a high street store at well over £10 & £15 - think some of them are jumping on the "Shabby Chic, cup-cake baking" bandwagon. I got a fabulous, cream enamelled, old colander a while ago & it's been really handy. Been using it for straining/draining etc. but also looks lovely on kitchen worktop with fruit in it.

Had another lovely find in past few days. Another leather jacket would you believe! Much cheaper than my recent M&S black one which i paid £15 for. This one is a blazer style in chocolate brown, lovely soft leather. From New Look originally of all places but didn't know 'til I checked the side label & it said there. Has quite a snazzy bright pink label at the back of the neck. Think it's from one of their bit better labels i.e. Someone famous lends their name to them & they get to charge the customer extra for it :rotfl: Anyway, fits like a dream & mine for £5.

I've been as good as my word & kept up with the regime I set myself - for every CS purchase which comes in, something has to go out! After the latest leather jacket came in I came home, had a ruthless audit of jackets & sent four back, including a leather one which no longer fitted (no idea why it was still in there!).

Thanks to all who post, I love reading. x

I got a gorgeous pink angora jumper with a dog on the front, sounds a bit twee but will look adorably retro with a circle skirt. I also snapped up a couple of pairs of jersey shorts for DD1 for only 30p each. I passed on a wicker picnic basket as it wasn't quite up to scratch so my search continues...

Considering how popular anything to do with cake-baking is these days I thought myself extremely lucky to have spotted a glass cake-stand for two little quidlets. Plus a rather fetching beige linen top for £2.75 and a pair of those flat, leather, sequinned khussas in black, which looked completely unworn for only a pound so I'm completely kitted out for the summer now. Cue an end to the warm weather until next year, I expect.
