After being so lucky with my purchases this week, I bagged up a few 0-3 bits & some bric-a-brac etc and went to drop it off but left feeling a bit deflated after encountering a bit of a grumpy so & so at the tills - thankfully her assistant was a charm & I left with another £8 of goodies - 2 x grobags for the summer & 3 M&S sleepsuits (pristine!) so my visit had a silver lining. Visited a Carboot yesterday and spotted a divine lidded wicker picnic / shopping basket - mine for a £1 :-)

Hello all, its been a while since I have been on here but I have been CS shopping as usual.

I use to volunter in the bhf for 7 years but gave up many years ago and we use to say that everything comes through a cs at some point so you just have to wait and be patient and you will be rewarded!!

anyway, the last couple of weeks haul have included various pieces of material from a couple of squid to no more than £4 and today i bought 6 yds of harris tweed for £2.50 am so happy that I might be able to get a coat made out of it, fingers x, 3 small french metal wall plates for £1.50, a couple of candle holders with pretty beading at a squid each, a very large granny square crocheted blanket £2.50, a couple of embroidered table cloths which were a bit dear but I collect cloths and paid £4.50 each, 4 retro linen place mats £1, a large bag of mother of pearl buttons 50p and some really unusual material with farm animals embroidered on.

I havent done too bad but has anyone else noticed how expensive jewellery is?

I tend not to have much luck on the clothes front as I am nearly 6' so tend to get household, material, gardening bits - have got a cast iron fire grate (got in a carboot for £10) and surround which I have turned into a water feature and I bought a brought a broken clock for £1 and it sits on top so it looks like a mantle in my garden. I like quirky and odd and when I do the open garden scheme its good to hear the comments!

Could do with some beads or jewellery so will just have to keep popping in those cs!!

    hope everyones enjoying their hauls...

Mishmogs: I love the idea of the cast iron fireplace/water feature with clock in your garden. That's my idea of fun!

Well, on the hottest day of the year so far I bought a flannelette sheet for £2. Still in its 1960's packaging and a lovely pale green. It's heavier than a normal sheet and I may use it as a summer blanket instead of sleeping just under a duvet cover like I normally do when it's hot at night :)

Today I bagged one bargain, and one treat.

Bargain was an anchor shaped brass door knocker for £3.50, my treat was a sterling silver locket on a fine 16" chain for £12.50

Very please to find a door knocker as our doorbell broke ages ago, and they are so expensive normally too.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
