I got these board books in near enough perfect condition:
for £4 (cover price £4.99 each) for my nephew.
Also picked up a couple of tops, cropped trousers & a hoodie for my hubby - which doesn't fit so will have to be returned!
There really hasn't been much decent stuff as usual in our local charity shops recently.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I bought a Per Una top for £1 the other day - won't fit me - only a size 8. I wanted it for the mother of pearl buttons all around the neckline - just took them off - 21 small buttons and 42 medium size buttons. We have a £1 charity shop for clearance items in my town.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Our thrift stores don't have the prices your do!
But I've managed to get all the books in "The Dragon Tattoo" series for under $15, the cost of one new. Yes, I know I could borrow them from the library but I'd have to keep renewing them to get them finished. This way I can take them on holiday next January and read in peace and sunshine.
I collect East German China/porcelain. So, I'm always on the look out for Kahla stuff and found a meat platter for $5.99 in great shape.
The best was a Colcoulgh cup and saucer for $1.99.

Wondercollie, I love Colclough china, which design did you get?
I bought a BBC Good Food 'one pot meals' book for 50p (these are brilliant, the small books, have got 3 or 4 now)
A Brora cotton scarf for £1.00
Just trying to resist popping to the Car Boot Sale now, was going to sell at one but the forecast was for rain, but it's fine now.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Yesterday we got a tigger mug ( a really tall one) for 50p - our eldest LOVES it!
Our local charity shop sells most books at 50p/£1 - I very rarely come out without something....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Ooh so excited just unpacked a bag of old fashioned nighties I bought earlier in the week to put them in the wash and thought what's that?
I had completely forgotten about a beautiful art deco style green glass jug I had bought for a fiver!!!Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

White background with a small rosebud type pattern scattered randomly. I think it might be Sweetheart.
It was really the second one I've found but they are both different cup shapes and one set is fluted around the rim and saucer in gold.
Funny the stuff you start to collect as you get older. I remember my granny always using a cup and saucer and as I get older I find myself doing the same.0 -
Bought an Easiyo yoghurt maker yesterday - looks unused and was boxed. Cost £3. Made my first batch of HM soy yoghurt yesterday and it turned out beautifully"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0
