Awwwee BB, that was such a sweet thing to do. :)
  • I've had a few bargains recently-
Brand new Clarks wedges, they have the super comfy air sole and are great for work - £8
Call the midwife book - £2 missed the bbc series so looking forward to this
Per una black straight leg jeans - £3 have worn these constantly since buying them
Brand new loccitane shower gel x2 and shower oil - 50p each
Chilli pepper parka £8 very smart for a parka and cosy in this unseasonably chilly weather

If you love this and would like to read the others (Shadows of the Workhouse, Farwell to the East End and In the Midst of Life), The Works have them at £2.99 each or 2 for £5 :D. Tissues at the ready!
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Can we brag about car booty bargains on here? I'm so delighted with my CB haul from yesterday I have to share! (the other thread seems to have gone :().

Lovely sunny day yesterday and out local CBS was heaving! My DS got an almost complete set of Harry Potter books (he had been borrowing his sister's for years but has badly wanted his own copies). My DD bought herself some ritzy little tops for school plus some jewellry and cheap paperbacks. But our best bargain was a full length, ruby red, strapless satin ballgown with matching bolero jacket for DD's prom next year for £4!! It fits her perfectly (and she's not likely to grow much in the next 12 months and even if she does its a lace up back so can be let out to fit) and still had the dry cleaning ticket inside. The seller even threw in the suit carrier it came in! DD is thrilled to bits and spent many happy hours modelling it around the house for us yesterday!! :j:j
    £2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
    £2 Savers Club 2015 #8 £250£200 :j

Hezzawithkids, I have bumped up the original car boot/jumble sale/charity shop on the ebay/car/boot/jumble thread. Your daughter's prom dress sounds lovely BTW!

I had to drop into the local CS when I was about my business this afternoon. It was impossible to get to the bus-stop without passing it, so I had to go in. Had to. I found a really useful steamer thingy with a nifty gadget that sits inside to separate whatever it is that you're steaming into three compartments. Handy! £1.45 And what looks like a brand-new gold-coloured one or two-cup cafetiere £1.00

I have absolutely no idea if there are any car-boot sales within reach of where I live and I'm sort of glad, really. Things are already a bit out of hand without scouring car-boots at the crack of dawn as well.

Nothing much to brag about recently!! Got a skirt and a linen top for £1 each - both of these were TU from sainsbury. i wonder why I never see such items in the proper shops yet they catch my eye in the CS. Much be the inviting prices!!

The CS where I volunteer in has turned into a 'clearnance' CS which seems to be a trend. We sell everything for £1 (and I mean everything eg pure new wool planet coat!) i have noticed a couple of other CS outlets popping up recently in my local area. It may be worth asking your local if they have such a clearance outlet near you for even better bargains. X

Ooh thanks for recommendation! I'm really enjoying the book so far and when reading the description of Chummy instantly thought of Miranda Hart - saw the trailers and she really is perfect for the role!

Hmm, seems the Works will be getting a fair few pounds from me this weekend. In addition to the books listed above they have Brendan O'Carrols books too, The Mammy etc. Will have to make space for them!
