.... We haven't had rabbit since I left that job as it's so expensive these days.

Have you tried your local fishmonger or butcher for game? We can get any game from our fish shop, and if we time it right we can pick up still warm birds & rabbits from a pub not too far away, for the price the butchers/ fishmongers buy them for, about £1.50-£2 each.

Mind you, we do live less than a mile from open countryside on 3 sides, with the sea on the other!
  • Today, a gorgeous Boden dress/tunic £3.50 in the relate shop - which is a good one as all dresses are one price, all skirts etc.

Then to my good old favourite, strut, as haven't been for two weeks (yes, I was getting withdrawal symptoms!!)

A new look maxi skirt 50p
Asda George green cardi, looks like new, 50p
John rocha top for my jollys, 50p (although on closer inspection it may be a pj top, but I won't tell if you won't!)
A girls school pinafore for a friend 50p
A vintage Laura Ashley dress £2.50 ( need to try and see what it looks like, may shorten to knee length instead of mid calf, but will be good if there's anymore 50's party, just need the petticoat now...)

Oh and as my friend and I were leaving, 2 more of our friends arrived, ha ha, we got there first!!!
  • I didn't find it but my six year old spotted a trash pack truck he wanted for £1.50 they are £20 new, I am training him up well lol.

2 gorgeous patchwork cushion covers, hand made 50p each, lovely fabrics. And hiding just under those were 2 cushion covers to match my bedding, I refused to pay the £9.99 each for these when I brought the bedding but was happy to pay 50p each today :)

  • Forgot to add...bottle of Sanctuary covent garden bath soak 20p!!
Smells gorgeous... Don't really have many baths, so thought I'd try it as shower gel, and if it 'works' I'll take it on holiday with me!!
  • Well I just had to break my charity shop buying ban today!

Now that I've moved house there is 1 independent charity shop, just down the road, so I had to pop in... I bought myself 2 gorgeous Monsoon tops. 1 is 100% silk the other is a linen/cotton blend. Both were just £3.25 each.

I'm please as can be, as I've dropped a couple of dress sizes so can now fit in Monsoon clothes (always admired their stuff) - and normally the larger sizes sell for at least £10+ on eBay. :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • New Look Jeggings £2.00
New Look party dress £4.50, both in BHF.

And, two short-sleeved jumper dresses (for putting polonecks under when it get's really cold) in two colours from Primark but £4.50 each in Age Concern, love it when I can find two of something good, got a pair of summer dresses like that in Cancer Research a few months ago :D

  • Mrs freelander spotted this at our local charity shop http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/hi-gear-kitchen-stand-dlx-p142497 BNIB for £2.

Gave it to my brother and his wife as they have now caught the camping bug after doing a weekend with us the last bank holiday.
YNAB is my new best friend. :)
  • That is a brilliant bargain. Amazing what you find in the charity shops.
