I absolutely adore Charity shops! So much better than 'normal' shops. My friend and I usually spend Friday's (my day off) trawling the ones in my town. Last week I got a pair of Ladies MBT (Masai barefoot technology) mary jane style shoes for £3, a pair of jeggings for DD3 for 99p and a little set of stainless steel measuring cups for 99p.
I don't know about you, but I love the charity shops that are a bit disorganised and tatty - not the fancy ones that almost look like a boutique. I love to have a dig around for undiscovered treasure in the ones that are piled high and not at all orderly0 -
I agree sellurgranny. The major charities have very 'clinical' shops that all seem to look the same and selling at silly prices.0

Have bought half a dozen dresses and more from Monsoon, Next and John Lewis recently for my 8 month old god-daughter. Never more than £2.50 and I know the lovely purple cord one from Monsoon was about £17.00 new....
Best one for me, stunning red satin-type dress from M&S, £8.00 to BHF. Looked great at a friend's wedding and even better, it was a size 12 :j
The £5.00 each FCUK dress and Next heels were also rather good!!

Not a charity shop find, but I went for a walk in my local forest yesterday and found two vintage milk bottles sticking out of a pile of soil and leaves! From a quick internet search, it looks like they're from the 1950s. Took a while to clean, but they look great in my kitchen.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain'0

I picked up a load of stuff in a small town rummage through the junk til you find something sort of charity shop. Got a few vintage scarves that I stuck in the wash without thinking and the colours ran
I did get a tartan made in Scotland pure wool scarf, with the Tie Rack tag still on for €1! It says dry clean only - how can I wash it at home - would it be safe on a wool wash in the machine? Its going to look great with my other charity shop find, a wool coat for €12.
I also picked up a 1970s cuddly dog toy, that was very dirty and smelly so I stuck it in the wash, again without thinking and the stuffing has of course absorbed the water and begun to smell. I'm thinking of removing all the old stuffing and stuffing it again with new filling - even though my sewing skills aren't the best
I also got some cotton napkins thinking i could get the stains out with a good scrub but the stains have set right in - if I dyed them would it conceal the stains do you think?0 -
I went to the charity shops this afternoon after a week or so away.
Got 2 as new T shirts at £1.99 for me. I needed something to wear under a cardie for my uncle's funeral this Thursday.
Then I went through the jumper section for my brother and got him a Gant fleecy jumper. It is quite hard to buy for him as he is 6 foot 4 with long arms! Looks OK to me, though. Looked it up on their website and all their jumpers retail at £80 - £150!0
