I paid her & asked if I could pick it up later as it was heavy & when I went back she'd packed it in a Tesco 'Bag for Life'. I did repay the compliment though 'cos when I had a clear out I took everything in to her shop!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

As DS is a baby he is going through sets of clothes every few months, our local children's charity shop isn't particularly cheap but I like to use them to support cancer research. Anyway I bought him a variety of Next, Mothercare and Osh Kosh dungarees and trousers for under £3 a pair, the dungarees are so lovely and cost £2.95, a fraction of the usual cost. I also picked up a couple of jumpers and a lovely thick gilet/knitted top. He's now kitted out in trousers etc for the next few months, he just needs the basic vests and sleepsuits and some plain tops to see him through.0

Nothing to report on the CS front today (yet!!) But can I pass on a tip for this cold weather?
You can often find lovely full length slips in the CS & if you are fairly handy with a needle they can be cut off at hip level & re - hemmed (or trimmed with the lace from the original hem) & they make lovely camisoles. As I'm quite tall its nice to have them long enough to 'cover my kidneys' as gran used to say!
Happy CS'ing allSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Me neither.
In fact, they'd have to pay me 75p to take them away. :rotfl:
But SavvyMummy, that's a really good bargain.
Some charity shops price books up at crazy prices - £1.99 in some cases.
It's often cheaper to buy paperbacks from The Works.0
