dropped off some stuff I was going to put on ebay but really had enough of ebaying before xmas and also the charity shop nearest to me really does support families in need, so perfect home for my unwanteds. Had mentioned to DH i liked the mock fur coat in cotton traders for £65 but no way would i buy it, BUT yes really!!! I dropped my stuff off and turned around to spot the SAME fur coat!! £4.50 and 3 sizes too big !! I bought it and its hanging on my door waiting for me to adjust it to fit me,,had some advice to 'adjust it' from an elderly seamstress I know. I couldnt believe it, it looks new and I had only just seen it in the c. traders brochure, happy happy happy.Life happens when you are busy making other plans

I love it when things like that happen - you were obviously meant to have that coat!0

took a trip to the seaside on New Year's day & found a new CS open - they told me they decided at the last minute to come in & see how busy they would be as they knew a lot of people would be about for a post-Christmas walk. And they were so busy, it was definitely worth it for them.
Anyway I found 5 lead crystal glasses; 2 port & 3 sherry for 50p each. The sherry glasses are much better quality but all have chips (hence the price) around the rim but I want them for little vases anyway so I was really pleased.0 -
Being a new year, I got to thinking what was my best buy throughout the whole of last year! It was no contest really. Last Autumn Dr Barnardos in Harrogate had a Buy one Get one Free day - I got a brand new pair of size 3 shoes and a Principles (hardly used) handbag for the total sum of £4.50!! The handbag has been much admired but I have yet to wear the shoes (they are flat summer pump type shoes but I am sure we will have a better summer this year!!)"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Cleared out my local of baby girl clothes for DS and GF.24 items came to just over £10 ! Most things were 50p or less and some were unworn with tags. Will keep checking in there as they say they always price baby clothes low.0

First time posting here but I was so pleased with my find today. Went in my local hospice shop to drop off a couple of bags of very good clothes and goods and decided to have a quick look. I found a brand new cream John Rocha coat/jacket with all its tags still in place for £10. Not sure how old it is but I am sure it was a lot more than that when bought from Debenhams!0

Today I got a lovely cobalt-blue Fenn, Wright & Manson 100% merino wool cardigan for eight quid. It looks brand-new, too. Not as cheap as chips as far as the usual CS prices bandied about here but a fraction of what it would have cost new and a thing of true beauty. Hooray for Scope in Walthamstow!0

I love it when I spot a designer garment - especially when I spot one in spanking brand new condition. Unfortunately they are few and far between these days. It seems even the wealthy are making their clothes last longer! My last designer buy was around last March - I got a Liz Claibourne jacket (black edged with cream piping) still with tags on for £7.99!! It fit like a glove and I wore it with black trousers the week after for a Christening!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

My local Sue Ryder shop was having a half price event and I got a biscuit coloured cord jacket brand new from BHS for the grand sum of £3! I next popped into the Sense shop and got a brand new cotton and lace tablecloth with 8 napkins for £3.50 I thought all my christmas' had come again but I turned around and saw an original miners lamp for £8. I have wanted one of these for years. Am off to do some research on the lamp before I go to work. Yippee for chazza shops eh?SPC Nbr.... 1484....£800 Saved £946 in 2013)

I saw a completly random item in the charity shop down the road yesterday.
A large brass shoe horn at £3.50. (It's about 20 inches long)
I have no need of a shoe horn, but I bought it anyway, as it appealed to me.
It's ultimate destination will be eBay, but I'll enjoy looking at it for a few weeks
